Overall Rating
Frankly speaking, I aimed at clearing JEE ADV and nothing much, so it was never my thought to get into IIT Bhilai. In fact, I was a bit depressed when I unexpectedly got into it, in the 6th round of my counselling(mine was the closing rank of that year) or I would have been writing a review on IIT Indore by now. Cool! But now I feel IIT Bhilai CS is a better one for me as CS has lot of interesting things to get into and I can't regret this decision because it's the only one for me.
 

Academics Rating
Speaking of the academics, in the first two years of BTech, we guys had a bit of time to explore things, so make sure you don't waste in on backlogs. In the 3rd Year, you would have a really hectic schedule and you'll get busy in course works, projects, clubs and Inter IIT things of course. Getting internships is one of the main aspect here. Please don't expect companies would come and take you to them, here you need to apply more off campus as most companies might not be visiting us and you need to take care of the things yourself mostly.
 

Faculty Rating
Here, speaking of the faculty, I won't say all of them are excellent.... but some really are. They make us feel like...oh man! these are all connected and it's damn interesting. But remember, the works they assign us would be of the same level(a bit more too) ...as expected of them. It's like.....we'll indulge the whole semester in getting those works done.
 

Placement Rating
Yeah our placement is CCPS. It does help students acquire jobs and internships but they're weren't many companies visiting IIT Bhilai. As of now compared to the other IITs. So most of us apply offcampus to a large extent. But yeah I suppose this condition improves on the long run.
 

Hostel Rating
Yeah, our hostel life is really good, as they were new now, they were clean and hygienic, with AC and washing machine facilities of course, as expected of an IIT.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The new campus of ours is really good and pleasant unlike the condition outside. The classrooms were constructed in such a way that they gave you a feel of a movie theatre and speaking of the library, it's the highest point of the whole campus in the form of alphabet "H". Although we don't have much references there, most of us spend time at library to study.
 

Campus Rating
The overall campus life is good. We have the main fest MERAZ(a 3 days fest), conducted around November every year. Apart from that we have other events like Ciao(Freshers event), Expressions(Dance club event), Cultscape,etc., We do have various clubs like Swara(Singing club), Beathackers(Dance club), DesignX(Design club), Robotics, SES(Space exploration club), The Pixel Snappers(Photography club), etc.,

  • IIT Bhilai's 3rd Gen Status Offers Unique Academic and Career Opportunities

    I chose IIT Bhilai because my rank in JEE Advance. One of the other reasons why I chose this institute was because of one of my parent’s friend's son studying there. I could have gotten CSE in some of the good NITs but the IIT tag seemed very promising so I went for it. My experience over here has been average.     Study in IIT is one of the dreams for every student either of JEE or graduate as IIT provides not only better instrument facilities but also an environment where the future of India studies.   • IIT Bhilai: Fee Structure, Scholarships, and Opportunities

    When I joined the institute, it had temporary campus with only 30 acres of land. It was a small campus but it was beautiful. It had all the facilities, which an IIT should have. I chose this institute through my JEE Advanced rank. It was a small institute with limited number of teachers and students so here connections/bond could be made with almost all the people residing in the campus.... Read Full Review
