NIT, Calicut: The Best Institute in South India

Overall Rating
One of the best institutes situated in south India with a great legacy and curriculum, established in 1961 and earlier known as REC, NIT Calicut is a great institute indeed. Spread across 350 acre of campus, this institute provides a solid infrastructure and curriculum for students to grow and nurture them. This institute has proven itself to be better than IIT’s.
 

Academics Rating
Academics in NITC are tough and strict, with a minimum attendance required to be 80% and above it really has strict faculties. It becomes really hard for students to manage a hectic schedule, but above all this, still this institute has a curriculum which builds a student mindset to be the best and excel outside the world.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are kind of strict but supportive with a good research background. Students who are interested in higher studies can yield great benefits from them. Just manage your academics well and boom there you go, a great and a bright career in your hand after graduating from this institute, what else to ask for.
 

Placement Rating
The placement drive of the institute is highly aligned with the moto of helping students to ensure great placements out of their respective branch. The highest package here was 50 LPA and the average was 9 LPA. The placement rate of the institute is 80%.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, we have great accommodation facilities for students with a great mess and all the basic needs fulfilled. Here, the rooms have different occupancy like for first year - 3 sharing, second year - 2 sharing, third year - 2 sharing, and for fourth year - single sharing.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The institute is spread in a landmass of 350 acres of lush green campus with all the basic number of facilities perfectly provided. It has a good library, classrooms, auditorium and great connectivity throughout the campus makes the institute accessibility easy and convenient, throughout the years and years. The council has tried their best to improve the institute infrastructure and make it great for students.
 

Campus Rating
Overall the campus life in the institute is mix of all ups and downs. From academic to extracurricular challenges, you will have to manage academics and your hobby both at the same time and might end up getting exhausted up to a level that you might crave weekends. But at the same time this all of the challenges and difficulties are worth in the end and you won't end up getting disappointed after 4 years.

    I joined NIT Calicut after securing my admission through JOSAA after scoring good marks in examination. I chose this institute since it is near to my home. The campus is so beautiful and every now and then, there is a program in the institute, which I think, does not happen in most institutes.     I chose Electronic and Communication Engineering. I chose this branch as it is in 5th in rank among all the other NITs. The campus life in is so good. Even though we have so much work, life here is very good and calm. You will never regret choosing this one.     The overall experience here is good. I chose this institute because it was the best I could afford with my rank in JEE main and NIT Calicut provides good placements. The campus is beautiful it is full of trees. I worked hard during my entrance coaching and it was all worth it.
