This university introduces you to who you really are and what you are capable of doing. SRM has given me many things whether it is good friends or new skills. Here, you have freewill to explore various clubs choosing your interests or roam around in the campus. You will have a good time at the university. SRM also offers full tuition fee waiver to people belonging from particular places.

I took admission in SRM University, Kattankulathur in 2020 when Covid-19 was going on and for that reason we didn’t have any physical entrance examination which was conducted by SRM. I was selected on the basis of my 10th and 12th standard marks which allowed me to choose the branch according to my preference. After covid-19, the classes were taken on smart boards which was very useful for us to take notes from lecturers.

Coming to the most needed review, when I attended my first class it was difficult to adjust because it was fully including all the assignments, debates and even few practicals were conducted using software’s like AutoCAD. The professors have Doctorate degrees and are well-experienced. If the students are keen to learn then they might also get the chance to work on different projects with professors to gain some practical knowledge. This experience will come in handy at the time placements.

Yes, SRM has a Placement Cell, and it collaborates with different companies. To get placement opportunities you need to pay Rs.9500/-. Placement activities start from the second semester of the third year (6 semester) in which MNC’s will hire students in the sixth semester as few companies give internship leads that might become full-time job opportunities. The Placement Cell conducts few training programs for day 1 and day 2. There are mass recruiting companies who hire hundreds of students at a time. After 6 semesters, it is a little difficult for companies to visit the campus, although that is not the case with IT companies who visit the campus throughout the year.

Yes, SRM has residential facilities. Men's hostels have up to 14 blocks which have different facilities like AC and Non-AC rooms, Attached and common bathrooms. There are three hostel messes, and the food quality is above average compared to other universities and local food joints. The first two years in the university, the food tastes nice but after some time it might become boring. The Wi-Fi connectivity is good, but it can only be accessed by the university’s email id. Room cleaning is done every day in the hostel.

The infrastructure is average because the design of the building is the same. It has parking lots for the students as well as for the faculties. The greenery of the campus is amazing, especially on rainy days which makes the campus so beautiful to walk around.

The campus life is much better than the hostels; SRM University, Kattankulathur has few canteens which are crowded, and the environment of the canteen is lively and good. There are two types of clubs, one is technical, and the other one is non-technical. The members of the clubs organises fests and road show events in the campus but the fests are average because not many celebrities visit the campus, and they also charge entry fee. In terms of organising programs, I would say they are decent and not that special. The university also supports students for national level competitions and awards the winners as well.
