LPU BBA Review By Gazal Suri

'LPU' is a University that provides its students the best chance to get placed, and that is what I loved the most about this University. Having graduated from here in 2017, the batch of BBA students was placed more than half and that too with a good enough package. The BBA program of LPU has stirred a notion of envy among its competitors. This program may not be considered the biggest strength of LPU but is among one of the University's top programs. The faculties of our branch gave their best in delivering the results. The program has tie-ups with many banks and textile industries that gave students internships to learn through the art of business through their organization. Even the top Institutes for BBA, like Christ and Symbiosis, have appreciated the wide facilities provided by LPU. The University has designed its program based on industry standards. That is why students from here have cleared entrances and have done MBA from top Colleges of India or are placed in top companies after BBA only.

Academics here are relevant to the industry, and we are taught skills that are required in the industry. So, our whole studies revolved around that. Thus, it's safe to say that it wasn't one dimension as we were made to learn all aspects of the business. Come to the end of 4t semester, and we had to join the summer internship compulsorily. The University has certain tie-ups, and we have not left to find internships on our own. This is a rare quality of any University because even the top University students have to find it independently. At LPU, we have to register, and soon, we have a mail from the training cell that we have to join a certain company on this day.

I still remember every single professor who taught us. They were like our coaches and mentors as they made us learn all the skills of business management. The importance of our studies, as many students did it as they thought BBA would fetch them a job or a degree, is required to have a say in the society. Those who were serious can take as much as guidance from them; even though LPU is a huge name; they endorsed other B-Schools that we should target via the entrance. I don't think anyone would do that, but our faculties who themselves passed out from top B-Schools like SCMHRD, NMIMS, or IIMs.

Bank jobs look most comfortable, and that is why in the form we were asked to fill our choices, most students have said that they want a job in the banking sector. Many banks like Kotak and HDFC came and took a few students. For BBA, the placements were around 40 percent, as clearing the interviews in which they literally ask many silly questions was not everyone's cup of tea. At least that interview gave me an experience at a personal level because even though we were given training, I was not prepared. So I didn't receive any placements, but at least I gained much of the required experience required for cracking placement interviews.

Hostel facilities are great, but fees are too high. Many students chose to live in the hostels as the campus is on the highway and at least 4-5 kilometers from the main city. Yet, finding PGs in Jalandhar is not tough as many villages surround the city and many students have come from those villages to study here. The hostels were great, and the food quality was optimum. I still feel they charged too much because I learned the TAM formula as a business student. Going by that, the University seemed like it did the business out of hostels, which is a basic necessity.

Students of our generation enjoy Snapchat more than any other app. The University had many whatsapp groups, and therefore, snaps of LPU can be found in most Whatsapp groups in India. The crux of the matter here is that the campus was so picturesque that comments on those posts say, is this University in India. The answer is yes because LPU is one of the most beautiful Universities in India. The size is immense as few Universities in India will have a campus of this size. There are shops, malls, salons, medical stores and what not at the campus. So, it was like a locality full of facilities.

The University has many fests and events, and one such event which was open for all departments was 'Youthvibe' which started in 2016 and has continued since. Everything was a part of this fest, from sports to literature to drama. The campus security part was amazing as there were two security levels, and breaching that was almost impossible.
