Rather than individuals, CU is about collective efforts. Faculties were there to help and students had to do their part honestly as we were provided many opportunities to get placed. Many students got placed through internships and then the campus CU MBA Placement program. At CU one thing that was guaranteed is because there were too many students from outside, so language was never a barrier here. Off-campus, though, people were seen communicating in Punjabi and in the city or the areas around that can be a problem. The campus was guarded with CCTV cameras and guards, so any nuisance inside the campus was not possible. At Universities in Punjab, you can often see such things but not at CU. As a student here one can develop a lot of skills that are required in our course. There was a dress code at the University and one had to follow that because one is not allowed to roam on the campus in civil dress during the classes' time.

The MBA at CU is too much as there are too many CAB meetings which we had to attend. Education here, though, relies too, on self-dependency. The course is so vast that some topics were taught in gist, and were told to study, and could be asked if there were any doubts. In addition to the course, the University organizes industrial tours, and workshops which again are mandatory. Daily 8-9 hours of training and classes were a must in the 1st year. The second-year was still easy as the TPP department took over after the third semester as they trained us day in and day out for the placements. So, from being taught the right topics to have done practical and have enough placement training to get placed through campus.

The first thing was that Chandigarh University Faculty were very, very helpful. So, on that note, I will have to say that even in a class of 80 students, they did a fabulous job. They knew every single individual with their names. They used to complain and also give demerit points, if required. At the same time, they would appreciate it the most to give students that confidence to go even harder. In studies too, they were not somebody who would spoon-feed as they left quite a bit and left on students to study on their own. Their methods were different, but in the end, what matters is where they are effective? In my opinion, they were.

Just like June is the month of appraisal in the corporate world, our placements started from the 3rd semester which started in June end. We were done with our internships and some of them were picked from there. We do have to inform the University about it as they keep a check on which all students are placed and where they have been placed. Come January, which is the beginning of the fourth semester, and we get another shot at it. Chandigarh University MBA Placement was done in May before the finals exams and almost 80% of the crowd from MBA had the placements. I feel that it was done way better than my expectations as Dehradun in that sense is quite far. Thank God this Institute has been started because even though it's not even a decade old, they have made it clear that placements will be done in abundance.

Chandigarh University Hostels are few and students have started coming in huge numbers. I was a little late in applying for the hostels and thus had to locate my base miles from the campus. I am saying miles, because the place where I found a formidable PG was 8 miles from the University. There are no good PGs around the University and thankfully the hostels are expanding so students may not face hostel issues now.

I, unfortunately, haven't been to the campus since 2018 but I am sure most of the development which was happening then must have been completed. We used to eat dust for lunch because apart from a few buildings, and one café, there wasn't much. The grounds were ready though, so for sports lovers, it was a joyful ride. The operational café was so expensive from a student's point of view that it was not possible to manage every day lunches there. From what I know, there are plenty of options now for students and we were asked if there's something we should change at the campus. Most students had the complaint that the café was too expensive as one cold coffee at that café cost us 150 bucks.

The MBA was meant to study and study more. Yes, many new events and fests were launched, but one has to be active to be a part of the University events. I was more inclined in studies as I didn't stay at the campus, so I had to invest a lot of my time in traveling. So, to take a leaf out of events was not meant for me; and I missed the part that most students enjoyed the most.
