'Sharda University' is one of the best private Universities without a doubt. There are various Universities in Greater Noida like Galgotias, Shiv Nadar University, Gautam Buddha University, Accurate Institute, and ITS Engineering Colleges among others. I did research for almost two months to make sure I took admissions to the best possible University. My JEE Main score was less and so were my 12th marks. Some Universities give admissions to anyone while Sharda has a strict criterion. 75% in 12th or a particular score in mains. Many scholarships are also awarded based on the scores and scholarships range from 5 to 50%. For girls it's even better as a 10% discount on total fees is given to promote girl child in the country. This is a one-off initiative as the University promotes many social awareness campaigns through its societies. Placements, which are the most important issue that students face, are also sorted here.

The course is not based on Indian style of working, but an international style of teaching and course is acquired. Apart from course books, Sharda University provides extra training and every student is provided internships in companies like Amazon, Mindtree, and Infosys. Students with best skills are provided an internship where they get around 40-50k as stipend money. I was not one of those who acquired that, but the students with the right talent get the best possible means to learn and make a grand career. Just like in real life, there may be some cons in all the departments, but it's up to an individual to take best advantage of the pros and move forward in life.

If I include all the B. Tech courses, the number of faculty is way over 100. There are many associate faculties assigned who taught us in the initial years, but once we cross the 3rd semester, all PhD holder professors took over the mantle. The transition was such that they made us revise all the things that we studied in the first three semesters as in CSE; if anything is left, one will never be able to catch up. I was glad to see them giving their 120% each time they stepped inside the classrooms. Some students were least bothered, and faculties too, didn't spend a single second of their time explaining them. Those who approached them were guided significantly, which helped them grow.

Top recruiters for CSE at Sharda University are Infosys, Mindtree, Cognizant, IBM, and Amazon. In 2017, the highest package went all the way to 44 lakhs, while the average was around 6-7 lakhs. Those who had maintained a CGPA of 7 or more were placed from campus. Students below that had no placements and I will not blame the University for that. More than University, it's the companies that come to see our CGPA. So, all the serious students who prepared for placements had placement offers in hand.

There were five boys' hostels including a PG hostel which was indeed the best hostel of the campus. I have made some fond memories at 'Vivekanand Boys Hostel' where I spent all my four years. From single room to double bed rooms, both were available here. The hostel management has appointed staff to maintain cleanliness at the hostels as all our rooms were cleaned after we returned to the hostel at around 4 pm. The lockers were provided and we were told strictly to keep our expensive belongings in the lockers. I was more than happy with the kind of food provided and especially the breakfast as we were provided fresh fruits for breakfast, which is rare in any hostel.

‘Sharda University’ is ever-expanding and thus even though the campus is ready; I couldn't understand why the construction was still on. The campus is Wi-Fi enabled as the entire campus and the hostels were Wi-Fi enabled. To ensure that students have enough options inside the campus, the central food court of the campus had 20 food outlets. Some of the famous outlets at the campus include CCD, Urban Thali, and Nestle. There was a proper departmental store that also provided medicines to the students. There was a call center at the campus as one can report any mishap happening at the campus and the team would reach there to punish the guilty. Apart from that, one can also confirm their exam dates, and holidays dates by calling at the campus call center.

At Sharda University, one can be called sick, if they say they had a dull moment at the campus. Tech fest was like a monthly thing here, so CSE students were the busiest. The ambiance at the campus is always happy as fun activities at the campus are endless. The year ended with one of the best annual fests ever, Chorus, which is held in February every year.
