Not only the academics are good here but apart from this all other things are best here including sports, cultural events and other activities. Here whatever course you choose you will find best faculties of the country. Obviously IIT Bombay offers great placements so that was my one of the main reasons for choosing this college. Other reasons on the other hand include the night life which is best here in Bombay with overall personality development environment.

For bachelors you have to crack JEE advanced with good rank under 1000 for getting IIT Bombay and for masters either through GATE or if you have already done your B.Tech from any IIT then you can apply here. I did my B.Tech from IIT Jammu and I applied here and through an interview I came here.

Most of the faculties did their Ph.D from foreign countries like Harvard, UC berkeley and known colleges and with lot of good research papers so no doubt they are very good at their skills. Honestly some professor’s teaching style may very but no doubt on their knowledge because my one semester has passed and now I can claim that all of the professors are very good and they explain the concepts very precisely. Professor Prasanna who taught thermodynamics, his way of teaching was very impressive and admirable.

We have a proper department who control all things related to placement. There is a proper structure proper hierarchy of people who work inside placement office (po) with many positions of responsibilities available for students. A student body deals with companies HRs, logistics and other important things like assignment of rooms for companies, pre placement talk and another body IC (Interview coordinator) who manages all other things related to interview and other PORs. These are very important for smooth placement process. Main point here is that hierarchy, setup and protocols for placement process is very well structured and properly organized here.

I am living in hostel 18 which is one of the newest hostel of IIT Bombay and the food here is the tastiest food you can get in this college. It is single occupancy hostel with proper security, recreational room where you can dance, play TT, and many other games. Gym is also there though Institute has the main gym inside the campus but some hostels have their own running gyms. A dedicated room for music enthusiasts is available where you can get almost all instrument and equipment. Institute also has its own property music room dedicated for Institute level purpose which runs independent too. Some old hostels are there which is at the heart of IIT Bombay because these are very old hostels and are alumni funded.

No doubt IIT Bombay has one of the best infrastructures for all the departments including gigantic library. No one can resist the library as it is the best place where you can find place to sit and read a book whether it is related to academics or fiction or non-fiction or any other category. A reading hall is where you can study peacefully beyond library timings. Academic block is very easy to discover and you can reach out to any department very easily as transparency, flexibility and vastness is at the core of this college.

This is the best place to enjoy your life along with your academics and honestly often here you will witness events and workshops where celebrities, regional artists and talented individuals from all around the world come and showcase their skills. Mood Indigo is asia’s biggest cultural fest which is conducted by our college only. India's biggest technological fest, techfest is from IIT Bombay only. IIT Bombay location is very prestigious as by just stepping outside you can go to heeranandani on the weekends and enjoy clubbing, gaming and many more activities. Just outside of the campus there are bars and gaming zones where you can chill out with your friends. There are various affordable restaurants where you can have a great taste.
