The main advantage of studying here is the diversity & exposure it offers. Majority of the students are very kind. Almost all the facilities are provided inside the campus like books, xerox, stationary, food and many more provisions. The campus is really huge and beautiful. The lake outside the main gate is a real beauty at evening when accompanied by the sunset. There are several food spots you can visit, from coconut water to pizza, any other food options that you like. If you want to visit real Chennai, you can take the local train from the station named Potheri, which is just across the highway, and it'll take 1 hour or so to reach the first mall. My decision for choosing this institute was a right one. I have made really good friends in this institute.

Academics here are not a tough task. Of course, you will have to complete many projects in between your exams but the college here is teaching us to handle pressure. Even I had to manage my projects, reviews, viva and practical exams along with my internal exams which were not easy at all. So, in the academics' area if you follow the guidelines given by the professors in the class, you can score a good grade. They are really experienced and also, they teach well. The grading system is not bad, so passing the exams will not be huge burden on the students. The main benefit of the curriculum is that there are few subjects in each year which will help you during your placements like DSA, OS, etc. These are the courses of CSE branch. So, in the academic's aspect, SRM is great and there is nothing to be complained about.

The academics are great only because of the faculty. More than 90% of the faculties are highly experienced in their fields having 10+ years of experience and that is why they share a lot of practical world insights with us. They really seem to be well versed with the subjects they teach and also help the students in clearing their doubts. The teaching style of the professors is like any other college i.e., through Power Point presentations. The slides for one unit can go up to 200 which look scary, but you just have to sort things out. Once you know the subject that 200 slides would become 50 slides and that only helped me in achieving good marks in the exams. The best thing is that at the beginning of the course the faculties will explain you the complete journey about the course and semester wise syllabus breakup so that you can plan accordingly.

Placements, I would say are not bad. There are many good companies that visit the university for placements. The main thing they seek for is your skills and then your academics. SRM provides good opportunities to the deserving students. The highest package in 2024 was 52 LPA and the total recruiters were more than 980. There is nothing to worry about the placements offered by the university but to worry about how you'll grab those job offers. SRM is a good educational institution in terms of placements.

Hostel is the best part of the students’ university life. Hostel facilities provided by SRM are enough for a student to live comfortably. The food served in the mess is average. Talking about the rooms, there are multiple options of double, triple, quadruple and 6-persons sharing the room with or without an attached washroom. Also, the rooms are cleaned almost every day. The best thing about hostel is the roommates. Here, everyone is kind and joyful, so there's no worry to make new friends.

SRM has a huge campus. There are separate blocks for different branches like Law, Biotechnology, Electrical, etc. There are two campuses - both situated at the opposite sides of the lake. There are two main buildings - the University building and the Tech Park. The campus is really mesmerizing.

The overall campus life is fantastic. There are many fests organised by several clubs and organisations. They are 4 nights’ fests where many famous celebrities are invited to perform. The crowd of the university consists of students from all over India. It is recommended to join a club to increase your network and also to get the perks of participating in various events and representing your university. So, the overall campus life is amazing, and you will have no regrets.
