Indian Institute of technology, Mandi is a good Institute for engineering and science. You have to be much qualified to take admission here. According to me it's a fabulous Institute. After studying from here you don't require to look back. Here's atmosphere helps you to do something different. Teachers' are also helpful and friendly. The alumni connection of the Institute helps you to grab your dream opportunity. At last I want to tell you that you have to be qualified to take admission here.

Hi, I am 2nd year undergrad of IIT Mandi. Since its a new IIT, it is still growing but not at the expected pace. The management of IIT is average here in terms of course allocation and career guidance to students. Way of teaching is nor good nor bad. For Job / GATE preparation or any other exams after B.Tech you can't rely on their class notes. No. of hands-on workshops to learn industrial skills is less. Labs are partially equipped as they do not have required no. of licenses of respective software’s needed. Lack of essential advanced courses that are required by the companies have yet not started in core branches. Also you have to maintain attendance otherwise you won't be able to give exam.

The faculty members here are highly qualified and believe me some teachers are more than friends. They are just awesome. The course curriculum is very useful and it helps a lot in placements and higher studies. The faculty's give too much pressure to the students because it's IIT and they have to maintain their image. They are very friendly when they are teaching but at the time of revision they are not friendly so always be prepared.

At IIT Mandi, about 90% of students were placed during the latest placement season. The highest package offered was 60 LPA, while the average was 25.23 LPA. Top recruiters included Microsoft, Amazon, IBM, and TCS. Around 75 pre-placement offers (PPOs) were made, with internships provided by companies like ISRO and Tata Motors. Major roles included software engineering, data analysis, and core engineering.

Hostel facility is worse and moderate at same time. It requires lots of time for repairing hostels. Toilets are regularly cleaned. Mess food is neutral and special dinners are being organized at the end of each month. Mess fee is paid separately while filling the course fees. As it’s a hilly area Wi-Fi connection gets interrupted.

Infrastructure is good. It's a hilly area and its tough to make buildings there so the buildings are small in size. According to other NIT's and IIT's here infrastructure is small but good. But there is no lift facility available. To journey from one place to another place it's tough. You cannot use cycle because it's a hilly area. Overall infrastructure is good.

IIT Mandi hosts exciting tech festivals like Ruvaan, Xpecto, and Exodia every year usually between February and April. The institute has over 20 clubs, its technical society. The library contains large amount of books. Classrooms are modern and comfortable, with good seating, projectors, speakers, microphones, and air conditioning facility. Sports facilities are excellent, with options for cricket, badminton, football, hockey, table tennis, squash, swimming, and gym workouts. Student-run groups also organize events that give students great exposure.
