The overall experience of this college is quite good. The college is one of the best colleges in Kolkata for this particular course as it provides a holistic development and wholesome experience helping students to cover every aspect. The curriculum is quite rigorous, strict, with 75% attendance criteria. Students aiming for the top colleges in this course can aim for this college.

The B.Com hons. course provided by the college has 6 semesters having a CIA exam and ending with the semester examination. The students have to choose elective subjects in their 5th and 6th semesters. The eligibility for admission in this course is based on the cutoff for the 12th board exams which easily crosses 90% every year. The B.Com evening department admission cutoff is usually more than 93% to be eligible.

The college has well educated high qualifications faculty members actively supporting and helping students throughout their academic period. They also help them with the co curricular and Research projects. The college provides a mentor in each classroom for each semester and also with a counselor for their personal queries. Overall the faculty is quite good and supportive. Their teaching style includes exhaustive explanation with the help of presentations and other information’s collected from the library.

The placement cell of college is active providing one of the best placements at UG level in Kolkata. Every year it brings some of the Big4 companies and other Mid size and small companies to hire students for both full time and internship programs.

The college provides hostel facilities for both boys and girls separately. The hostels are at a minimum distance from the college premises. It is affordable with above average facilities.

The college premises are well developed, spreading over a large area with numerous blocks. The right blocks are for St Xavier's collegiate school. Beyond that stretches the Basketball and football grounds. It also has a huge Central library with 3 spacious and well equipped loaded shelves with books from different genres. The Central library also has an outdoor green bench seating area. The left and center side of the campus belongs to the college classrooms, different Seminar halls, auditorium, a stationary shop, Canteen, office for each department, etc. Overall the campus is good and one of the best in Kolkata.

The campus life that the college provides is quite good. Various events such as intra college events, cultural events, sports tournaments are held for students to participate and have a holistic experience. Various society programs are conducted by the students led societies. They also organized to for students overall development. The college provides one of the best campus life among the colleges of Kolkata.
