I explored all the possibilities and after checking the characteristics that I look forward to, JSS, and S&TU were the best fit. M. Tech is one of the toughest courses on the planet and I know many might differ, but firstly, check how many M.-Tech students you can find. 2 out of 10 engineering students do M. Tech. This is the ratio and then look at any College strength of B. Tech and its M. Tech program. A leader performs, and the reason I have called a JSS-S&TU leader is because it has overperformed in my books. JSSSTU has optimized its resources for students' sake. The College has switched as per students demand like even on Sunday we used to have classes because if the same doubts remained unsolved over the course of the week, then we were only left with Sundays as Saturday, mostly we used to have guest lectures. Mangalore is Infosys region and people from Infy personally trained us because they are present globally and they know how IT solutions can unite the world.
Academics here looked as comfortable as anything as the College tried very hard to be a team of students and faculty who could learn together. Many faculties were PhD and some of them were pursuing and helping them was like the best learning one could get. Even the hard yards that College has made never impacted performance academically because academics are always at the peak here. Unlike Colleges of Bangalore, where extra activities are considered as a medium of learning, Mangalore is completely different because in most Colleges of Mangalore, academics are given the utmost importance and there's no compromise with that.
Faculties here were released from the captaincy duties because HOD acted as captain as he would come and take surprise visits to check the progress that we had made. He would take some students out and ask them personally if there's any issue with the faculties. Faculties were well aware of this fact and that is why they always kept their actions in check and remained unbiased. If any favoritism was shown to any student, they knew, it would be reported. So, the College has done man-to-man marking well, because even the class co-ordinator was not given any special or extra powers. Leave has to be sanctioned by three offices alone; faculty sign will not help, so faculties here were powerless, but they still had a great impact.
Infosys people trained us as if the T&P cell acted as a toothless body or a spineless body. I am being a little harsh because what many think is that speaking and communicating skills play a major role in getting placements, but it's the skillset rather. I wasn't that good at communicating but still found a job with the role of my choice, and that too in a company of my choice. The T&P cell made me get confident in sitting for the interview, but then the interviewers checked certain skills and they liked my skills as they hired me for a handsome package.
There are around 20 courses offered in all at the University and there's no designated hostel for Science & Technology department as you can have your roommate from any department. PG hostels were better than UG hostels as there were mostly single-seater rooms. Also, the rooms had the best furniture and there was ample mess to choose from. So, the rooms were of optimum quality, and even the food was as per my choice, because more so, the menu was on a seasonal basis; but they provided us food four times a day. The only issue was the dinner timing because the mess used to get close by 9 pm, which was my usual dinner time at my previous hostel.
Over 100-acre campus meant no shortage of space or facilities. Every department of the University had their set of facilities like the auditorium, library, and canteen. Our department was the second largest as the medical department also had their hospital and their canteen was also the best on campus. There was a common auditorium and central library. The sporting facilities and canteens were common as one could use any canteen of their choice. The Shagun canteen was only for girls as boys were not allowed there.
'Walk the Talk' was the main theme of campus life. If an announcement is made that this will be done by a certain day, it means it will be done at least a day before. Likewise, the events and all meant that no studies on those days as the College has taken its mantra from 'Shrimad Bhagwad Gita' that nothing in life is called in-between. What you do, you do it with your whole heart or rather don't do it.

As I have completed my first year in JSSSTU Mysore College, I'm happy to share about the environment here which is better than other cities. Campus has well-maintained infrastructure to ensure great learning experience for students. The stationary and other requirements of the students are satisfied within the campus itself. No need to look for other alternatives. It is the best engineering college in Mysore.... Read Full Review
The old war horse is the best term for JSS, S&TU. One needs good score in GATE to get here. I had the option of availing some Colleges from Bengaluru but I still went for JSS S&TU as the old war horse will never fail is what I was sure about. I had the season of my life at JSS-S&TU because all those that I missed at UIIT, I learned it all at JSS-S&TU. Infosys having their head operations in Mysore and sending their team of experts to monitor students and teach us all that they needed, it made ou... Read Full Review
I always wanted to be an electrical engineer, and the JSS ECE branch is just unique. For students coming from other states, COMEDK is the way to be. For locals like us, KCET was also acceptable. JSS is one of the best universities in the state, and being a private engineering college, the seats are also high. Even among such a high crowd, one thing guaranteed is that all will get equal opportunities. Even if you have the slightest inclination in electronics, join JSS as they will develop your pa... Hailing from Madhya Pradesh and going to a state that is known for education wasn't that easy. One has to appear for many entrances and once such was highly rated COMEDK. One has to be at their absolute best to be a part of JSS S&TU. The institute was formerly called SJCE but is now renamed as JSS S&TU. Honestly, I was chasing Bangalore colleges like New Horizon College of Engineering and Acharya Institute of Technology, but when I realised that JSS S&TU ranks higher than those colleges and Myso... Many factors make college life enjoyable. On that front, the library, fests, study environment, and faculties are all great. Admissions here require great numbers in the state entrance exam, which is open for students from all across the country. Many students choose this Mysore college over colleges in Bangalore as the college ranks as one of the top cities in the State. Having Infosys, in the city is also one of the factors as experts from Infy have their inputs in many practicals. The managem... Read Full Review
