JSS Science and Technology University B.Tech Review By Ashish Joshi

Hailing from Madhya Pradesh and going to a state that is known for education wasn't that easy. One has to appear for many entrances and once such was highly rated COMEDK. One has to be at their absolute best to be a part of JSS S&TU. The institute was formerly called SJCE but is now renamed as JSS S&TU. Honestly, I was chasing Bangalore colleges like New Horizon College of Engineering and Acharya Institute of Technology, but when I realised that JSS S&TU ranks higher than those colleges and Mysore is the cleanest city in India, I decided to have a go at JSS S&TU. I have had some of the best times at JSS S&TU, not just because of the great infrastructure but also because of the kind and caring management of the college. A student council was made, and students from other states were allowed to raise complaints. All our issues were addressed as JSS S&TU management is adamant on making JSS one of the best colleges in India.

The course is perhaps quite compact as in every semester; we used to have two events, project submission and three internals. In six months, this was too much of an ask, but I had no choice but to deal with it. We were also taken for industrial visit to Infosys, IT Park and COFORGE Business centre as a part of our academics. CISCO has also developed a hub inside the campus and has made learning relatively easy. There's no better institute for students interested in studying technology than JSS S&TU.

It is tough to impress the faculty as their demands would never end. If you have completed your project before time by chance, you will be assigned a task to help another student in their project. You will always be in a dilemma about how to get a pat on the back from them. I tried my best but couldn't in four years. They were extremely professional and showed their authority by helping us in our projects and giving us tips and advice out of the syllabus. A little strict otherwise, the faculty were great overall because one can't make everyone happy, but the students were highly impressed by them.

Ours was probably the best institute in Mysore, and when you have Infosys located here, why go anywhere else. They took half the students while the other half who weren't happy with the package tried their hands with various other companies. CISCO gave a couple of students jobs worth 14-15 Lakhs; otherwise, it was mostly between 5-7 Lakhs. Some were even lesser, while some didn't even have any jobs through the campus. I was indeed happy with the offer that I got, but because I saw many students getting double the package that I got, I decided to have another shot at it with an even superior degree.

Clinical, peach or whatnot. Hostels were remarkable not just for living but to have fun as well. Warden became friends, and sometimes even they would join us for birthday celebrations. The rooms allotted to first-year students were a compulsory of four. From the following year, though, we used to have ample choices. The same with the girl's hostel too. The main SKU of the hostel is food, and if you don't mind, the food was much better than what I used to have in my boarding school in Shimla. My parents double of what we paid at JSS for food at the boarding school. So, everything was as I said clinical, all the points about the hostel, be it rooms or food.

If Mysore has bagged the cleanest city of India's award, then JSS will surely bag the cleanest campus award in India if there was any such award. If you have the guts, try spilling something at the campus and see the consequences. Fine is one thing, but the student who did it regularly were also given demerit points. Among facilities, lecture centers were terrific. Auditoriums were like multiplexes, and labs were like research centers of an IT company. The entire campus was Wi-Fi enabled, and security cameras were placed in all buildings. The grounds were incredible, and students who love playing sport will find the facilities ideal for them to play and excel in sports.

One thing that we all thrive at the campus is to get things sorted. At JSS S&TU everything was sorted as there were many centres to go to and have a chill at the campus. The crowd was terrific, which was a little surprise to me. Half the students are from other states of India, which has made things even at the campus. College fest Jayciana is live telecasted in local channels, and with social media getting more assertive, one can see our college student's performance on the net. Thus, life at JSS S&TU was extraordinary.
