Harcourt Butler Technical University: Insights into Campus Life and Facilities

Harcourt butler technical University (HBTU) is located in Nawabganj Kanpur. HBTU is mother of IIT Kanpur. HBTU has two campus on is south campus others are in West campus. South has only hostels and field for games like Satabdi Bhavan. All academic buildings and departments are in west campus and all of them are good. West campus looks like mini Banaras Hindu Vishvavidyaly (BHU). It has have much greenery. There is very nice faculty. HBTU academy performance is good but there are some issues with placements in some departments. Also in some department like plastic, eclectic, electronic, mechanical, 100% students get placed. Overall HBTU is above average University in UP.

HBTU is known for excellence in technology branches. HBTU has legacy of century and more. HBTU academics are good. HBTU is also good for lower branches like paint plastic. In electronic, mechanical like branches have very good performance. Here I am student of B.Tech civil engineering 1st year. I also wanted to get entry in this University because it has legacy of century plus years which builds big amount of alumni which helps us in academics in different ways. The admission in HBTU for B.Tech is high. It is based on JEE main result. Student must have completed 10+2 with physics, chemistry and mathematics core subjects. Admission is done by counseling process through HBTU.

Admission fee Rs. 60,000, Fee Payment for Registration Rs. 2,500, Seat Acceptance Fee Rs. 75,000, Hostel annual fee Rs. 23,250 Hostel mess fee Rs. 36,000 D.S.W. charges Rs. 3,750. Total fee Rs. 2,00,500.

HBTU Faculty members are highly experienced. They are well educated. Some of them have different ways to teach us which can easily make the students understand. HBTU has sufficient amount of labs and each lab has assistants. In University we have Ph.D students who are always available for us if we want to ask any thing or understand our doubts. HBTU Faculty members have M.Tech or Ph.D qualifications. They have done it in reputed University of India or foreign. Some of them have published some of their research. In HBTU Faculty members mainly use blackboard for teaching purpose but they also use PPT’s as per use some of professors always use PPTs or videos to explain the topic. Our faculties are very polite. They also help us during exam time like take extra revision class and clear all doubts in the class. Our faculty members are very humble. They always try to connect with students but they are also strict for those who disturb classes.

HBTU has vital connections with companies and also HBTU has 100+ year alumni association which provides large amount of placement offers for students. HBTU Faculty members also support us for preparation for placement. This involves what should we study and how can we be placed in a reputed company.

In HBTU there is sufficient place in hostel. I got Ramanujan hostel which has two types of rooms, one which is single room and second which is triple sharing room but is larger in size. Hostel has Wi-Fi facility. Hostels have attached mess which gives breakfast, lunch, evening snacks and dinner. In the hostel we have a volleyball and badminton court. The Hostel is really good.

Harcourt butler technical University’s each department has a separate block that is equipped with enough equipment that are useful for that department. Each department has well maintained staffs. Our campus is divided into two parts. East campus which is smaller than west campus. All academic buildings, girl’s hostel and some boy’s hostels are in the east campus. West campus has all boy’s hostels, gym, play ground and all types of game courts.

Overall campus life is good. University crowd is ok as compared to place in University. There are a lot of clubs like Aeroclub, Autorob Club, Kalakashk Club, Gruv Club and have much more events that improve our skills and also give enjoyment to all of them. In the University we have a game competition team for all games, tournaments and some of them go out of the University and more competition.
