Being a Freshmen at HBTU Kanpur

Overall Rating
I am a student of HBTU pursuing my Undergraduate program B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. My experience at this university is good. There are some factors that made me choose this particular institute and one of these are its alumni network and it is a government university so it has its own value. One more thing make it different is its 75% criteria attendance. It is not so serious; you can take it for granted. Hostel and campus life is average here.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen Mechanical Engineering. Alternatively, you can say I have been allotted with it. Therefore, you may know that mechanical engineering is not going well in other universities but unlike our university. It is one of the best branches. If you have genuine interest in Mechanical branch, you should definitely go for it. If want to take admission here, first you have give JEE Main exam. on the basis of your rank, you go through counseling and the branch will be allotted
There is different fee for different course. As I am doing B.Tech, so total fee is Rs. 1,35,000
 

Faculty Rating
I am a 1st year student and freshers of all the branches have same syllabus. So main faculty does not teach us. However, seniors tell us that faculty is good. All the faculties are PhD holders (mostly). They use PPTs, smart board, blackboard and demonstration to make understand the concepts and make their full efforts. They all are good at teaching problem solving abilities are great. bonding with faculty is good as they are very helpful.
 

Placement Rating

Hostel Rating
The average package of HBTU in the year 2023 was 9.3 LPA.
 

Infrastructure Rating
There is a library in university, which is very good. It would be better if it opens event after 7 PM. our campus is so big and approximately 73 acres of land in east campus and 250 acres of land in west campus. The university is at good place where you can find all you daily needs. The classroom is good and seating capacity is good.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is average there. There are many types of clubs, which can be very helpful for you in your improvement journey. All the clubs have something that you can learn. Fresher’s party is organized by some branches. All the festivals are made special here.

    I am currently 2nd year student at HBTU Kanpur pursuing Leather Technology. It is good for placement. It has strict attendance criteria as students have to maintain at least 75% attendance.     Harcourt butler technical University (HBTU) is located in Nawabganj Kanpur. HBTU is mother of IIT Kanpur. HBTU has two campus on is south campus others are in West campus. South has only hostels and field for games like Satabdi Bhavan. All academic buildings and departments are in west campus and all of them are good.     HBTU Kanpur is a tier 1 university. It is very old, as it was established in 1926. Many companies offer packages of around 8-10 LPA during on-campus placements.
