HBTU Kanpur: Excellent Academics, Amenities & Activities

Overall Rating
I am currently 2nd year student at HBTU Kanpur pursuing Leather Technology. It is good for placement. It has strict attendance criteria as students have to maintain at least 75% attendance. Its placement is good for all branches and its alumni network is very strong. It has various clubs, councils, and societies. However, it is good University you can learn many things.
 

Academics Rating
You will give JEE Main exam and attain good rank and apply for online counseling. If you do not get any branch, then you will fill SPOT round form, you will have to go to the campus then you would get seat. Academics are quite difficult, so students have to work hard to pass in the examinations.
1st year fee is approximately Rs. 1,35,000/-. This is academic fee. Rs. 63,000/- P.A. is a hostel fee. Registration fee is Rs. 25,000/-.
 

Faculty Rating
Professors are good and have a good experience. They are qualified from IIT, NIT, and other renowned Institutions. Professors teach with the help of smart board and PPT. Teachers assist students us in case of doubts. They are friendly and supportive.
 

Placement Rating
In my department, Leather Technology has good placements. Many companies visit the campus like Tata International Leather, Kabir Leathers, Prachi Leathers, and so on. Average package is approximately 5.5 LPA and highest package is 12 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Yes, the University offers hostel facilities to the students. In addition, there are separate hostels for male and female students. There are hostels at east & west campus. Moreover, students of each year have their own accommodations. Mess food is also good.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Overall, the campus is huge. Classrooms are so good. There are ACs, smart board, etc. Other amenities such as library, seminars hall, auditorium, and conference room, medical facilities, and canteens are also provided to us.
 

Campus Rating
Yes, HBTU Kanpur has various clubs and sub-councils like robotic club & Aeroclub. No, I am not part of any club. Yes, fests, parties, and other events are also organized. Alumni talks, fresher’s party, sports tournaments, etc. happen from time to time. My experience is good.

    I am a student of HBTU pursuing my Undergraduate program B.Tech in Mechanical Engineering. My experience at this university is good. There are some factors that made me choose this particular institute and one of these are its alumni network and it is a government university so it has its own value.     Harcourt butler technical University (HBTU) is located in Nawabganj Kanpur. HBTU is mother of IIT Kanpur. HBTU has two campus on is south campus others are in West campus. South has only hostels and field for games like Satabdi Bhavan. All academic buildings and departments are in west campus and all of them are good.     I got in to HBTU through JEE Main exam. Now talking about experience, this college is overall good since the alumni base of this college is very strong.     HBTU Kanpur is a tier 1 university. It is very old, as it was established in 1926. Many companies offer packages of around 8-10 LPA during on-campus placements. It has two campuses: east campus and west campus. East Campus has a main building, all engineering departments, labs, class, lecture hall, girl’s hostel, first-year boy’s hostel, and football ground.     The overall experience is decent enough. The college is more than 100 years old and you can feel it. The college is mostly famous for it's very large you don't alumni network.
