VIPS-TC New Delhi Campus Life: Fests, Clubs, and More

VIPS, currently affiliated to Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University, is a rapidly growing Institution with, A++ NAAC accreditation. Also, it stood as one of the 3rd best institution for 5 years law degree in Delhi. The best thing I can say about this institution is the academics and the quality of faculty, especially of law, is really good. The highest number of gold medalist from VIPS, in IPU proves this very well. Also, it has numerous societies and Centers, like Dance, Music, Art, Debating, Moot, Centre for International relations, Centre for Criminal Justice, National Cadet Corps, NSS, etc. These societies are prominent and very active, unlike other colleges. Its Alumni base is also really strong, with large number of students as Judges and JAG in army.

If you care about academics and more this place is for you. You may not love the quite small campus as much, but won't be able to disregard its quality of education. The institute has almost 4 libraries for different courses. Also, it has free facilities for sites like Manupatra, SCC online, and West Law. The libraries are equipped with not just academic but variety of other books. The academics of Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies Technical Campus are amazing.

The fees for 5 years B.A.LL.B (Hons.), is around Rs. 1, 50,000 per year. During my time of admission, it was nearly Rs. 1, 20,000 but it increases every year for new batch. As such there are no additional charges, other than fees throughout the year. Also scholarships are now available for EWS students, and the information regarding same can be found at the College's website.

Its most of the faculty members are from good and prominent institutions from not just India, but many have educational background from International Colleges too. The teachers here are really eager to teach to the best level. Also, they are very frank with students that lead to open communication of opinions and debates in classes. This also develops a really good bonding. The teacher student’s ratio is near about 30 to 40 students per teacher, i.e. 1:35.

Vivekananda Institute of Professional Studies Technical Campus does have a placement cell, but it’s not that active. Most of the students go for off campus placements only. However, the placement option is available, but according to the strength of Law graduates, it’s really low.

VIPS does not provide hostel facilities, currently. But as far as I know, it may develop soon. However, there as numerous Pgs and flats facility nearby, for students. Many of my friends do reside there, without any issue.

The institution lies in North- west of Delhi, near Pitampura and Haiderpur metro stations. The infrastructure of the institute is good. The cleanliness and hygiene is also maintained around the campus and washrooms. The college has 3 academic blocks, for different courses. All the classrooms are equipped with good and comfortable seating with spacious rooms and large window. It has 4 libraries, numerous centers, Medical room, basketball court, badminton court, Moot court room, Seminar hall, 3 Auditorium, Canteen, etc. The canteen has good service and many options to choose from. You can find south Indian, to north Indian, to Amul, to mother dairy shops all at one place. If not Canteen, outside Chai tapris are always affordable to go place.

The campus life is good here. Numerous fests and events take place in the institute throughout the year that are organised by different societies. Also there are many clubs and societies that give numerous opportunities to students. The students are friendly and open minded, it is a private institution and many are from well to do families.
