IIIT Una: Best Choice for My UG Degree

Overall Rating
This institute was one of the best choices I made in my life. I got an IT branch in such a reputed institute. I chose this institute because of the brand value associated to the IIIT. It is one of the few IIITs that have a campus of its own. The accommodation is good. I get all the facilities. There is an excellent peer group who are amongst the top students of India.
 

Academics Rating
Multiple courses are provided in this institute, from B.Tech to M.Tech. The B.Tech course has 5 Branches IT, CSE, ECE, CSE with specialization in Data Science, and CSE with specialization in Cyber Security. The admission is taken trough JEE Main and Gate exam. Exams are conducted twice every semester end-term exam and mid-term exams. The courses are up to date in comparison to the courses offered by the other government and private institutes.
The fee depends on the year of admission.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty of IIIT Una is quite educated. Most of the teachers have PhD in their subjects. Teachers here use every teaching method ranging from PPT to blackboard to discussions and experiments to tech, depending on the teacher and the subject’s requirements. The teachers are one of the best problem solvers in the country. Most of them have gate ranks under 100. The student teacher ratio is less than 20 here. The teachers here are of every type like every other institute some are approachable some are not.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The connectivity of this institute is not very good I will say. It is situated in a small district of Himachal Pradesh 10 KM away from the city. The classrooms are air-conditioned and have heaters for winters. Facilities as if library, labs, and mini auditorium are present a open-air stage is their too. All the major types of sports grounds are there like cricket, football, badminton, basketball, tennis, table tennis, etc. A gym is there too. There are 4 different canteens and 2 messes.
 

Campus Rating
If you are someone who likes peaceful environment, IIIT Una is a blessing. There are multiple clubs like singing, dancing, literature, cultural, entrepreneurship, photography, etc. Many extracurricular activities are organized by the clubs. This institute has a cultural fest named ‘Mridang’ and a technical fest named ‘Meraki’. I liked this place overall, because of the peaceful nature but if you want a city culture this place is not for you.

    In addition to my JEE ranking, I decided this college based on a number of factors. A friend of mine studying at IIITA recommended it to me, as well as a senior who I met through Instagram.   • Truth about IIIT UNA!

    Everything is good as much as I experienced. It has a permanent campus which many new IIITs lag in also placements are decent not good not bad. Faculty is also good most are PhD holders only some exceptions are there. Hostel facility is also good here. Overall if we see it's a good option for the one who has decent JEE rank (25k-30k)....     My overall experience at this college has been from mediocre to worse. The college facilities are nowhere to be seen but the faculty is very good and well equipped with PhD degrees. I chose this particular college because it has good connectivity as well as permanent campus and it is near to my home which is just a bonus.     Like any other IIIT the admission is done through JEE mains and JOSAA counseling followed by CSAB special round. After counseling the overall experience is okay, the seniors here are very chill and always ready to help. The college is situated at a very peaceful place and very close to tourist destinations like dharamshala and Shimla etc. Academics are given high priority here but still many sports event and extra-curricular event have been organised.
