BITS Hyderabad's MIT-inspired Teaching Methods

It is an excellent institute with some of the best amenities provided to us. The infrastructure is amazing. The teaching is based on Massachusetts Institute of Technology which is the world's leading technical university. BITS Hyderabad is a well-recognized brand and is comparable to the iit. If fee isn't a problem and one should definitely apply for this institute. The students here belong to rich class in general because there is no reservation making it a great place to build a network. This can't be found in local institutes where the reserved seats are filled by non-deserving reserved candidates. The professor too are graduates from IITs and other foreign universities.

I'm in Electronic & Communication Engineering. This is an upcoming field due to the saturation in Computer Science branch. The placements of ECE are higher than CSE. The course provides an integrated study of both software and hardware components, making you well versed in both fields. You have to clear BITSAT exam for this institute and have minimum 75% marks in PCM aggregate. In every semester, there are mid-sem and end-sem exams along with numerous quizzes and assignments all along. The academics are logical and reasoning based thus it is better than most other institutes.

The tuition fee is Rs. 5,18,000 per year. This increases by 5% each year. The registration fee is Rs. 57,000. There are fixed caution deposit and miscellaneous charges totaling to Rs. 10,000. There are 2-practiced schools whose fees are Rs. 95,000 and Rs. 99,900 each which too increases by 5% each year. Merit scholarships are given to top 1% students . Which is 80% and next 3% is 40% . In first semester it is based on BITSAT score and from then it is based on CGPA If your family income is less than 15 lakh you can get 80% at much less CGPA like 8.57 instead of 9.78 of merit. This is merit cum need scholarship.

You can choose your own teachers and make your own timetable. The faculty is world class. The faculty used blackboard and projector slides to teach. The faculties are well versed in their subjects and solves every doubt the student has. In lectures, there are 300 students and in tutorial, there are 50 students at max.

The placements are top notch last year average package was 15 LPA and highest was 2 CPA.
Top MNCs like Nvidia, Google, and Facebook visit the campus, providing world-class exposure. The internship is compulsory from practice schools.

There are different hostel in BITS Hyderabad for student of each year. In one hostel, there are ground + 3 floors with 100 rooms. For first 2 years, the rooms are in for two and from third year onwards, students have separate rooms. The girl’s hostels are separate. The hostel fees is Rs. 55,000 per year. Mess food is good better than most other institutes. Mess fee is Rs. 44,000 per year. There is no restriction and you could go out of hostel at any hour.

The campus is newly built and is one of the most well built campus in India. The infrastructure justifies the high fee. The academic block is well built. Also, there are separate labs and classrooms with air conditioners, projectors, and enough lighting. Other facilities include library which has almost every book you can ever need in your studies. There are also various sports facilities for the sports like squash, football, cricket, and badminton. There is also a swimming pool. There is an option of all night canteen which serves food on very nominal rates until around 3 AM. There is also a medical centre where you can get medicines for free. The security facilities are really good and guards are active.

The campus life is really good. The only downside is that the campus is way out of the city. There are numerous fests which are conducted by the management and one of them is the technical fest in October. Cultural fest is also conducted in the month of March. Other events include engagement activities which are held throughout the semester. These activities are various literary facets, etc. Many celebrities are invited for podcasts, which help students to learn about various development in the corporate world.
