Amity University PGDM Review By Vikas Nagar

Amity University is one of the largest private universities in India as they have their universities set-up in 10+ cities of India. I was at Amity University Noida and did my MBA from there as among the private institutes, Amity was the one that offers quality placements and there’s not much problem with admissions. At Amity, we were constantly put under pressure situations and I honestly loved it. The practice and tough scenarios under which we were taught and asked to perform only made us stronger. All the individuals were given certain responsibilities and roles and they had to do it by hook or crook. Failing was never an option as we knew the placements were 50% and I couldn’t afford to be on the wrong side of that. I would appreciate the university for their thought process because the old saying that when the going gets tough, the tough get going was duly followed. Those who weren’t tough enough ended up on the wrong side of placements and the tough ones managed to hit the bull’s eye.

The whole DNA of academics was defined well. We used to have classes and practicals simultaneously. Classes were the core but not the only thing in the world because to know the industry working process, industry experts were called upon at the campus to train us for the same. Even we were taken on industrial tours because unless and until you see it, you can’t learn it. Mandatory internship was also a part of the academic curriculum. So, we had all these different things to do which only made us stronger.

They were impressive as faculties don’t need to be friends with students but still compatibility is required and it was there. The faculties were quite a few but the style of teaching of most of them remained the same. Even the approach remained the same because making students understand the books is never enough or rather never forever. So, proper training and practical application was taught by them. Giving live demos and demonstrating themselves is how they went for the business. Our discussion room meetings lasted for the entire day as if there are 20 students, each view was heard and then debated upon. So, the faculties never finished until they brought all of us on same page because that is how corporate meetings are supposed to end. So, the practice or preparation for that happened at Amity and all thanks to our priced faculties for that.

Amity University placements are not 100% but that the university place its students and that too with lager corporate with larger salaries is definitely true. Having been in the mix and trained thoroughly to ensure that students are in best state when the companies come for placements. Amity University has many friends as some of the recruiters come every year and have their wish list ready as they hire students in numbers. Average package offered were around 5 lakhs and Amity Noida highest packages went all the way till 14-15 LPA.

If one goes to Amity and doesn’t stay at hostel means they would be fool to doing so. Amity Noida hostels had plethora of options in choosing the room types but the mess served the same food as there was a gigantic kitchen where the food was prepared for the hostellers. Students could enter the kitchen and one will be in awe of it as one fill find no littering or rotten food over there. Fresh Vegetables were brought daily and there was no compromise with the quality of food served. Well from facilities to food everything was taken care of but what was in our control was to make hostel life interesting and I can safely say that it was the best life that I ever lived.

Amity Noida campus is huge and more so it were the facilities that made campus look like a golf course. There were carts for travelling at the campus because walking at the campus to reach from one end to the other might take ages. For food, we had so many choices that we always felt like skipping the mess food as from Chinese to Mexican, every damn cuisine was available at the campus. How can I end this part without talking about the sporting facilities. Outdoor grounds were amazing but it were the indoor gaming that gave me experience of a lifetime. For sports like squash and pool, I was introduced for the first time in my life as the campus has both these facilities at their indoor gaming facilities.

Amity University Noida Campus Life was nothing short of being called larger than life. No shortcoming but just homecoming as the campus excited me more to go back again and again and experience something new. AUMP the annual gathering of the campus was indeed the moment to savior for the rest of life.
