Overall experience of the university is quite decent to be honest. My university is the oldest university of Delhi making it very valuable. The fests here are very good. Other university’s students come here for the fests. The campus life is amazing in this university

As mentioned earlier, the university is old, which influences the curriculum. In other words, it needs to be updated as per the current standards and policies. Students need to put extra effort and engage themselves in self-studies. There are basically two exams that are mid sem and end-sem followed by CWS and viva. Mid-sem is of around 20 to 25 marks and end sem is 40 to 50 marks depending upon the course you have. There is relative grading but from next year the relative grading will be hard and passing marks becomes 35 overall. But it also depends upon the professor. Talking about exam timing, during mid sem exams, there will be two exams in a day. One in the evening shift and other in the morning. As far as the timings are concerned, the university gives a lot to give as in two hours, you to need to do only 5 questions, which is very good. The difficulty of the exam is moderate.

I have paid a full year fee i.e. Rs. 2,36,700 for academic year 2024-25 (nearly Rs. 20,000 per month) in which Rs. 1,50,000 is a fix tuition fee that will not change in the upcoming years. In my final year, I need to pay Rs. 2, 86,700 and that is too much I think. Good part is that there are many scholarships available for economically weaker section of the society. SC and ST may also be getting government-based discount that is full tuition fee reimbursement. However, for general category income, based scholarship is there, where students with annual income of less than 4.5 LPA have 50% discount on university tuition fee and students with annual income of less than 2.5 LPA have to pay remaining fee other than tuition fee. There are other merit-based scholarships as well like for toppers of every department, there is a cash prize of Rs. 5,000 to 20,000 depending upon the SGPA.

The faculty in DTU New Delhi is a mixed bag of characteristics. Some of them are extraordinary people who not only have teaching experience but also have extraordinary minds for tasks. Since I have been in my first year, the ratio of faculty per student is slightly huge i.e. 70:1. 90% Faculty got a 'chill' as they are very understanding and give you attendance if you come late to the class.

The placement scenario in DTU New Delhi is quite decent. Many companies come to the university and students get multiple offers as well. Around 1800 peeps applied for the placement session last years and almost around 1200 were placed somewhere. I have to say at least you have to work hard to get good package but it is much better that the private companies out there. The highest package last year was 1.2 CPA and average of this university was 15 LPA though there is a recession after Covid 19, which is very good. Top recruiters comes in our university is Microsoft, Facebook, Amazon, Nvidia, etc. The highest internship offered by Sprinkler in our university that is a stipend of 2 lakh which is phenomenal

Hostel for first year students is having decent double accommodation rooms having two beds, two study tables, a balcony, mattresses, and two cupboards (one for each). You get unlimited Wi-Fi access (enough for studies) and electricity, which is very good. However, one concern is the cleanliness of washroom. The meals served are phenomenal, having great food quality. There is a different menu for different day and special menus on specific days. For the first year students, the hostel is available for the students of outstation, but not for those who are resident of Delhi. From the third and fourth year, it is open to everyone. The hostel fee is Rs. 84,000 per year, including mess, which is decent.

Library here is very big having a variety of books for the academic purposes and autobiographies (you will find everything there). There are various sports facilities in this campus like there are tennis courts, indoor badminton court, lawn tennis court, basketball court, and many more.

Campus life is very chill to be honest. The senior junior interaction is very good. I love the vibe out there. There is something new happening every day in the campus. Renowned personalities from India come to university every week like I have seen people like Avadh Ojha, Neha Aggarwal, Parul Gulati, and many more. There are two main fests here: one is the Diwali fest that is ‘Yuvaan’ and another is the ‘Engifest’ that is technical fest happens in January. Last time famous singer Shreya Ghoshal came here and I were very excited about the next one. Like I said, earlier there is variety of clubs available in the university where the students get to discuss their problem anonymously, and get solutions by other people and that is what I like the most. There are other clubs like NCC and VOA working for the social development of the country.
