AKGEC Hostels: Hygiene, Food Quality, and More

Talking about my experience in college, it is good since our college is ragging free and it provides great surrounding for personal growth. Coming to the reason why I chose this college is that our college is accredited with A++ by NAAC and it is best private engineering college in Uttar Pradesh. The college fee is reasonable and is affordable. The infrastructure is nice and is surrounded by greenery. The faculties here are well qualified and very helpful. We get good knowledge of subjects.

I chose B.Tech with specialization in Information Technology at Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College because I wanted to be a software engineer in future and my score was not good enough for CSE branch. We require our score equivalent or more than minimum cutoff decided by administration to take admission and it is done through our JEE score. There is also direct admission through percentage of intermediate. In this course we have 8 semesters and semester exam happen after 4-6 months. During semester we have sessional tests and pre university tests too in college. The academics do not prepare us for real life. We have to put extra efforts to be industry ready.

We have to pay the fee year wise in Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College. In first year the amount that I paid was Rs. 1,41,000 approximately. In second year it was Rs. 1,21,000, In third year it's Rs. 1,18,000 and in fourth year it's approximately Rs. 1,20,000. There's no extra fee apart from this. We have to pay hostel and mess bill if applicable. There is scholarship available like national scholarship or UP scholarship if we want to apply.

Our faculties in Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College are well qualified and experienced. They come from various colleges like Chandigarh University, ABES, etc. They have done M.Tech, Ph.D or both. We have smart board as well as green board. Teachers use whatever they want. We mostly have PPT’s for discussion. In PDP classes we have group discussions, extempore, etc. Since our faculty members are experienced their problem solving abilities are good enough. There are many teachers available for every subject in each department. Every department has its own faculties. The teachers are approachable and have good bonding with students. We can go to staff room and meet them personally. We mostly prefer to ask doubts in class itself.

There is a training and placement cell present in Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College. Its called TNP cell. They give us information about various companies coming to our college and their drives registration forms via mail or WhatsApp community. We have companies like TCS, Wipro, Infosys, HCL, Newgen, Capgemini, Accenture, etc. The average salary is 5 LPA and highest is 34 LPA. The cell also provides training sessions for clearing interview rounds and soft skill classes.

Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College provides hostels for both girls and boys. The girl’s hostel comprises of three buildings and boys hostel too. For girls one is for first year, one is for DDU students and one is for other students. The hostel fee is Rs. 1,20,000 per year for triple seater rooms. The mess food quality and hygienic and is very good and taste is also nice. We have strict college timing for girls like 4:25, 5:25, 6:2.5 PM for first, second and third, fourth year respectively. For boys it's 9 PM. We have to clean our rooms ourselves. The corridor and other areas are under college.

There are many buildings like TIFAC, Administration block, CSIT block, Lecture theatres, New Lecture theatres, Mechanic department, etc. in Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College. The size of campus is about 40 acres. It is located in Ghaziabad on Delhi Meerut Highway. The classrooms have seating capacity of 75+ students. It doesn't have AC. We have facilities like Library, Labs, Halls, Auditorium and they are well equipped. There are two canteens where we can have food at reasonable price. We have a hospital too which is free for college students.

The overall campus life at Ajay Kumar Garg Engineering College is amazing because it feels good to be surrounded by our friends and having good time with them. College crowd is good as they are here to learn and grow together. There are many clubs like Footprint for art and literature, Horizon for literature, Renaissance for art and literature, Naye pankh foundation for social services, Taal for dance, Verve as fashion society. I'm part of TnP cell. We have Fresher’s and farewell party, Holi Party, Diwali Party, etc.
