Silicon University is known for its focus on technology, innovation, and academic structure. University offers a well-structured academic environment with strong industry connections, particularly in technical fields. Its strength is quality education, research opportunities and good placement records. The campus infrastructure is modern but there are occasional issues with maintenance and connectivity. All the faculty members have experience of over a year in teaching. The university is focused practical learning for real life exposure.

University offers variety of UG and PG programs primarily focused on Engineering and Computer Science. The curriculum is designed to align with industry trends and promote practical learning. Some students appreciate it while others find that it is too strict. The students can get admission after appearing in OJEE and taking part in university counseling, The main eligibility criteria is candidate secure at least 40% marks in 12th grade. Two exams in semester mid sem (20 marks) and end sem (50 marks). The difficulty level is general. Regular workshops and seminars are organized in the campus so that students can explore real values of learning. The curriculum is regularly updated as per industry demand.

Fee of this university are relatively moderate as compared to private universities but additional expenses like hostel fee and other extracurricular activities can add up. The total tuition fee for one semester is Rs. 1,05,000 and registration fee (one time) is Rs. 20,000. Hostel registration fee (one time) is Rs. 9,000, fee for 4-seater non-AC is Rs. 20,000 per semester, and 4-seater AC is Rs. 30,000 per sem. Mess charges Rs. 22,500 for a semester. Silicon offers scholarship and financial aid to meritorious students. Upto Rs. 75,000 waiver is provided in the tuition fee.

Most faculty members are highly qualified with many of them holding PhD in their respective fields. They use blend of modern and traditional teaching techniques. Faculty takes interactive sessions and used digitals tools for teaching. All the classrooms have projectors, many also have smart board, and AC. all labs are well equipped with instruments. A teacher is allotted to every student called faculty advisor. Student can discuss any problem face in college. Most of teachers are helpful and interactive in nature. Most of the classes are interesting and easy to score good marks if you are attentive in class no extra work is required.

Placements are strong, especially for Engineering and IT related courses. The placement cell is very active in bringing good recruiters (Infosys, Capegemini, Wipro, DXC, and Tata Power) for college placement. Practice or training session is organizing by placement cell to real time exposure for student. Average package is Rs. 4,80,000 to Rs. 5,00,000. Highest package id 32 LPA by Flipkart. Many students secure high paying role in reputed firms during the campus drive. 84% students were placed during placement drive of 2024 academic year.

Both boy’s and girl’s hostels are provided within the campus. The accommodation is designed to provide students with a safe and convenient living enviroment. The rooms come with essential items although space may be limited for some students. A campus mess is available offering a range of food options (both veg and non-veg). The food quality is acceptable. Student feedback on food quality and variety tends to be mixed. Hostel timings are 5AM to 11 PM.

Silicon University boasts a modern campus with well-equipped labs, well-stocked libraries, and classrooms, Wi-Fi connectivity across the campus. The total campus spread over 18 acre of land in Bhubaneswar. College provides transportation facility to day scholars. One sports complex is in campus. An ambulance service is available 24/7 in campus.

The university has various clubs, technical fests, cultural events, and student activities. However, students sometimes feel that academic pressure limits their participation in extracurricular. The main events of college are Zygon (Cultural Fest), Nirman (Tech Fest), Spark Up (Entrepreneurship Development Event), Silicon Cup (Sports Event), and Annual Athlete Meet(Sports Event). There are number of clubs in the university and some of them are IEE, SIPC, META, Creative, Music, Cinemax, and others. However, the intensity of the academic schedule sometimes limits participation in these activities.
