St. Xavier's College, Mumbai: Holistic Development

Overall Rating
All the keypoints that make a college great are covered by St. Xavier's College, Mumbai. I took admissions in 2024 and was excited to join it at the earliest after my admissions were confirmed. Thrill to go college daily hasn't come down by a single percent. If the question is why this college and not others then my answer is always try for the best one. It is the best indeed.
 

Academics Rating
The college has earned the respect that it commands as it is among one of the oldest colleges of Mumbai University. Just as in sports you say that your performance is gauged match after match, for college it's their results that is gauged year after year. Our college has seriously taken care of academics part and that is the prime reason why our college ranks among the top colleges not just in Mumbai but across India.
First year fee is Rs.75,000. In 4th year it is Rs. 45,000. So, probably the only college where fee is not inflated.
 

Faculty Rating
I feel there's a bridge between 12th and B.Com studies, as we have subjects in which we have no idea. Even accountancy take leaps from what we have studied in 12th. So, faculty’s role becomes that more important. I guess it’s their experience and teaching standards that gave us the strength required to bridge the gap between school syllabus and college syllabus. Two of our professors are teaching here since last 3 decades. When I came to know that, I was Jaw dropped as while teaching, they are always grounded and it has touched me the most about most of my course faculty members.
 

Placement Rating
Placements at our college for B.Com are definitely better than the rest. Can't tell the exact percentage of students getting placed but the placement rate is good.
 

Hostel Rating
Sadly just a boys’ hostel is all that our college has.
 

Infrastructure Rating
In Mumbai there aren't colleges which are massive and therefore St. Xavier's College, Mumbai should be praised for its infrastructure. Firstly, because of the location as it is located at a prime location in South Bombay. Secondly, don't discard the possibility of getting brain fade moments looking at our marvelous heritage building which is there ever since the british era. Classrooms are good as they can accommodate double the number of students that we already have in our class. Gymkhana, Library, and other facilities of the college have been upgraded now and that makes it hand in hand with any modern day college.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life at St. Xavier's College, Mumbai is so amazing that students have their own committees and are in charge of many big things in college. The support and backing that we get from our seniors and college support staff is beyond words. If I take example of ‘Malhar’ our fest, almost 150 students’ inputs has gone on and still the society was ready to incorporate more minds. Every festival be it of any community or religion is celebrated at the campus. Irrespective of their religions, students participated in every single celebration.

    I have been a part of St. Xavier's College, Mumbai since the last 2 months and all I can say is it's a really good college, provides nice opportunities for Extracurricular activities, sports, debates etc. Even the college clubs are good though getting in is somewhat difficult.     St. Xavier's College, Mumbai is a great college with amazing exposure, just like Delhi’s top colleges. This is hands down the best in the nation for BMS, at this price and with a good brand value. Overall, has a great infrastructure and has a student exchange programs with universities like Harvard. When exchange students visit our campus, compare it with Harvard's dining room, the college has a long history since 1869 and is really great.     I finished my 12th, and was confused which college to pick. I started to look and apply for few colleges from Delhi and Mumbai. After sometime, I received a call from St. Xavier's College. Offering academic excellence, vibrant extracurricular and top notch exposure, it rivals Delhi's best. Located near BSE and RBI, it provides students with prime financial and cultural access.
