St. Xavier's College Mumbai was Established by German Jesuits of Society of Jesus

I have been a part of St. Xavier's College, Mumbai since the last 2 months and all I can say is it's a really good college, provides nice opportunities for Extracurricular activities, sports, debates etc. Even the college clubs are good though getting in is somewhat difficult. The campus is attractive with old heritage buildings, green lawns and clean classrooms. There are also libraries, labs, and computer facilities that help students with their studies. The professors are also good, motivate students to study and take part in extracurricular They guide students in projects, assignments and research work. I chose this college because it is one of the most respected Institutes of India.

Course chosen by me is B.Com in Accounting and course eligibility totally depends on your Boards percentage and makes the process easier if you have minority quota like Christian, Defense, etc. Admission Process includes filling in the merit form for bachelors of commerce, bachelors of accounting and finance CIAs, and end sem exams are conducted almost every month. The college is providing both practical and theoretical experience, which is a good point.

The course I have chosen costs Rs. 15,000/- per annum and tuition fees of Rs. 15,000/- and admission, registration fees and merit list fees are subject to change. For other fee requirements, student may inquire in the college. The College may grant concession if you are from economically weaker section.

Almost all of the professors are Ph.D qualified and have really deep knowledge about the subject they are teaching. Every other professor has minimum 5 to 10 years of experience and they are supportive. Method of teaching involves blackboard, use of books, PPTs, and group discussions as well. The problem solving ability of the faculty is also really good and appreciative. Around 80 to 100 students are present in major subject classes, and professors are approachable if you have any queries.

Since I am a first year student, I have no idea about placements but they are better than other Mumbai University affiliated Colleges.

Yes, College does offer hostel facility but it is only for the boys, fee per annum is around Rs. 1,30,000/- for hostel accommodation and it does not include mess charges.

It is a heritage building, built back in the 1860s by German Jesuits of the Society of Jesus. The locality is Mahapalika Marg in South Mumbai. The classrooms are good, some classes have ACs as well though it is not required as the weather is cool due to the presence of sea nearby. Around 100 students can easily occupy one classroom; the college has library, labs, seminar halls and conference hall. Canteen food is also really good with a lot of options. I can say is the campus life is good as of now, the college crowd is also pretty diverse, especially in the Humanities section, there are a lot of clubs like Finance, Theory, Marketing, etc. for which one may give interview and join as per their interests. Many engagement activities are organised in the college like Dance, Music, Sports, Literary Arts, etc. Malhar, Sitaare, Christmas, Finance Symposiums, and debates are organised by the college frequently. The experience in this College is quite good.
