My View of LSR College New Delhi

Overall Rating
I loved my experience in this college. Being a first year student pursuing Economic (Hons.), I think the glorified picture of Lady Shri Ram College pictured outside DU, is indeed true. Particularly for economics, this is genuinely the best college. I have gained both knowledge and confidence here. The campus itself is very beautiful with lush green lawns the iconic red brick architecture of DU. There are many societies here, covering everything a student may be interested in. I highly recommend the upcoming freshers to join here to gain exposure.
 

Academics Rating
Economics was that one subject that ignited a spark in me in 12th standard. Since then, I had decided to pursue it. And Lady Shri Ram College stood out as one of the best for it. So I chose this course. Mathematics was a compulsory requirement. The admission process was quite smooth. After the result and payment, the college will contact the student. Exams are conducted semester wise with IAs and CAs conducted throughout the semester for the papers you have chosen. I think economics here is definitely worth pursuing.
The fees are minimal, keeping everybody in mind. It is less than Rs. 20,000 a year. We also have scholarships and fellowships provided.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members here are very experienced. They are the primary reason Lady Shri Ram is so glorified. They motivate and help you to strive each day. The attendance system is a bit rigid. It is good to motivate students to attend the class as it also has marks. The faculty members have good experience and command over the topic and yes, they are approachable too. They always assist in case of doubts. But they lack time. They do not spare a lot of time for the students, which I think, should be worked upon.
 

Placement Rating
The placement cell of the college is very active and we have students bagging good packages. A lot of sessions and seminars are conducted to aid students. McKinsey, Bain and Company, BCG, Accenture, etc. hire students from here.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostel of the college is currently not working. It is still under renovation.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure, as I already mentioned, is very pretty. There is red brick architecture. It is so beautiful and serene to look at. It has a cafe, Nescafe, bookshop, printing shop and everything here so students do not have to worry. All the facilities are within the college. A new building has recently been constructed too. The old building classrooms are little compact and small. We need ACs in our college though. My favorite part is the basketball court. We have a big auditorium too.
 

Campus Rating
I think the main reason DU colleges are so famous are because of its campus life. It has a group of colleges together, helping students to network. For Lady Shri Ram, it always has people walking here and there. All smart people under a roof. It is very enriching. There a lot of clubs and societies in the colleges. We have proper elections here too. Our annual fest is ‘Tarang’, which is a three-day event. Every department has their own fest as well. The college organises many events like Bollywood day, different projects etc. It has a once in a lifetime experience worth cherishing.

  • BA Journalism at LSR Delhi: Admission, Faculty, and Facilities

    The course I chosen is Journalism because I wish to pursue a career in editorial or PR in the future. To get admission in BA (Hons.) Journalism, you need to qualify CUET exam. The first round cutoff for this year was 770/800. For CUET, there are two available subject combinations to qualify. Any 3 subjects that are in list B and that you’ve studied in class 12th plus English, or general test & English. The admission process is quite simple and it’s online.     Before coming here, I was so skeptical whether I would find any genuine person or girls would be toxic, but to my surprise everything is so nice here, the people, the environment, the work culture, infrastructure everything.
