Exploring Campus Life at GLA University Mathura

Overall Rating
The university academics is above average than other private institutes. The placement opportunities are also better; my university does not brag about the high packages but also provides them. I chose this university because others were very far from my hometown. The university provides industry-based training by companies. They have tie ups with different companies such as Capgemini, Coding Blocks and W3Grads. They also have guest lectures and industrial visit.
 

Academics Rating
I have chosen the course Computer Science and Engineering because I have strong interest in Computer Science. Entry requirements are you should have minimum 70% in PCM in 12th. You have to give an online exam GLAET and after passing you will be selected. Exams are frequently taken in my course; in each semester, you will give midterm and end term examination. Academics helps in overcoming real life challenges as they provide practical knowledge of the subject's side by side with the theory classes.
The fee structure is divided year wise and is as follows: 1st year: Rs. 1,80,000 (Tuition fees), Rs. 10,000 (Security) and Rs. 1,000 (Alumni). 2nd Year: Rs. 1,85,000 (Tuition fees), 3rd year: Rs. 1,90,000 (Tuition fees) and 4th year: Rs. 1,95,000 (Tuition fees). Additional Rs. 6,000 is to be paid each year as exam fee. Several scholarships for JEE percentile holders (merit based) and PCM merit percentage holders in 12th grade are available. Government Scholarships are available too. If two sisters take admission in the same year, tuition fee of one will be 100% waived.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members teaching my course are quite experienced and many of them are alumni of IITs, NITs and IIITs. Their method of teaching consists of chalk, blackboard, PPTs and group presentations. There is 1 teacher among 25 to 30 students. The teacher student bonding is also great. They are easily approachable because most of the teachers live inside university either in residencies or hostel with students. Students can connect with them very easily.
 

Placement Rating
There is a placement cell in our university. Students of 1st and 2nd year are volunteers in this cell. They are made familiar with the placement related information from beginning. Microsoft, Jus Pay, JP Morgan, Infosys etc. visited our university. The highest package is 55 LPA and the average package is 8 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Residential facilities are offered by university at the time of admission. There is total 15 boys' hostel and 4 girls' hostel in the university. Hostel provides facilities like Wi-Fi, 24 hour hot and cold water, laundry, newspaper, TV, etc. Hostels have different types of room like single, double and triple seater. The fee for single seater is Rs. 83,000, for double is Rs. 73,000 and for single is Rs. 61,000(annually). The mess charges are same for all Rs. 38,000 annually. Hostel rules are simple like no fighting and biometric by 9 PM. Hostel timing is not there as it is inside the campus, but outing is allowed till 8 PM only.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is quite big and beautiful. There is total 12 academic blocks and 6 of them are modern built architecture. The classrooms are large with seating capacity of 100. There is a central library and a dedicated departmental library in each academic block. There is a small canteen in all the blocks and there is GD Subway too. There are different sports and spaces provided for each of them. Transport service is available for day Scholars.
 

Campus Rating
My overall campus life is quite exciting. The university crowd is very much especially at university timings. There are different clubs dedicated to different areas like coding, dancing, singing, entrepreneurship, etc. There are events and activities going in university every week, but students are excited about annual fest and technical fest. It happens only one time in a semester. I am enjoying life at my university as it is very much engaging.
