Securing My Future at Mumbai University

Overall Rating
Kalina Campus of Mumbai University is where the Law department is and we just have two floors assigned. Since most universities are small, in Mumbai, our university campus is used for many universities’ guest lectures and seminars and we get the advantage there, as university students are also permitted to attend those events. Placements are a bit sparse and that is the only drawback as otherwise studying law from University of Mumbai is a bigger novelty than studying in MNLU or GLC.
 

Academics Rating
The faculties always try to make students of the university of Mumbai the best lawyers. Morning classes and done by 1 PM. Most legal firms are in Bandra and nearby areas so some students do enroll themselves for internships too. Law studies and the subjects that we have to study sometimes look fearsome, but teachers have other plans as academics are never off the hook here.
Rs. 50,000 is the fees for Law.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties of University of Mumbai have student’s centric loyalty. Our faculties make the students here competitive and ready for real life. Their nature is what has ingrained in me in the time that I have spent under them, not just in classes but after that too. Group discussions are always encouraged and how to prepare for international moots events is something, which they have taught us.
 

Placement Rating
Placement cell is there. However, it can improve its services for the betterment of the students.
 

Hostel Rating
The University campus has hostels in the Kalina campus and because many students are outsiders, hostels are always running on over capacity.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our classes are held in Shakarrao Chavan Building on the campus and just two floors are dedicated for law as rest of the floors are used by other departments. Campus is quite big and has all the facilities. We have best of the best sports arena. Also best seminar halls and the biggest library of Mumbai is inside our campus.
 

Campus Rating
We just have three lectures daily of one and a half hour. There is a small break between the lectures, where we sit and relax in the lobby. University Teacher Stall, is an open tea stall, where law students mostly discuss their internships and all. The campus is quite happening and enjoyable.

    So it's been 2 to 3 years in this university and it has been a rollercoaster ride indeed. The university is improving a lot though in every aspect. The seniors are cooperative. Moreover, the professors are helpful as well. The management of the university can be better though. It provides you time to do internships in various places so that's truly a plus point.   • Understanding the Exam Structure and Admission Process at University of Mumbai

    I chose this university because of the faculty which is very supportive. I'm a chess player and the faculties are very approachable when it comes to chess. My experience is good at University of Mumbai. If you are a sports player then this is the best university for you. Other than sports this university is good for academics as well.     College is surrounded by lush gardens and trees, which makes you forget the crowded and fast life of Mumbai. Being a student of business I was very lucky to get admission here and got to live the life of Mumbai. College took us on a lot of industrial visits and helped us get internships in some MNCs.
