My Journey in SVC New Delhi

Overall Rating
Sri Venkateswara College, DU is a renowned and prestigious college. It is considered as one of the most famous colleges in terms of producing successful alumni in various fields and disciplines. It is a perfect blend of extracurricular and studies. Overall, it is a great college to keep on your preference list is you want to pursue BA or B.Sc.
 

Academics Rating
My course is Bachelor's of Arts in Economics and I wanted to pursue this course ever since I was in my 12th grade. Economics as a subject is in itself a very interesting subject and it offers diverse career options in higher academic pursuits as well as gives options like research, consultancy and public policy. Eligibility to get this course in this college is to give CUET in 12th subjects.
The tuition fees per year for this course in Sri Venkateswara College University of Delhi, ranges from around Rs. 18,000 to Rs. 20,000.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty is of great stature in reputation. Overall, the faculty of Economics department is very well versed with all the economic concepts and their teaching methods are also up to the mark. Professors are in general very cooperative and understanding. However, they can be a bit strict with internal assessments and assignments, but their teaching methods are great. Professors generally use blackboards and PPTs for teaching. Teacher student ratio is around 1:30.
 

Placement Rating
Placement of the college are good as compared to many Delhi University colleges and companies of great name like Deloitte, Bain and Company, etc. come for placement recruitments here.
 

Hostel Rating
Venkateswara College, Delhi does offer residential facility, hostel for girls and boys but capacity of the hostels is very less. It is provided on the maximum distance basis and marks in CUET. The overall capacity is around 100 in girls hostel and 100 in boys hostel each. There is usually 1 or 2 seats per course in both hostel and PWD category students are given a priority in hostel.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is very beautiful and full of lush green blooming trees all over. It has 3 main buildings known as blocks. Each block has spacious classrooms well equipped with screens and projectors for PPTs. A library has been newly renovated. It has a very spacious study space for students and is filled with numerous books in many disciplines.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is decent. In general, there are students from all parts of the country so overall we get a good exposure and get to learn a lot about different cultures and get new experiences. The crowd is great in the college and there are multiple societies and clubs. Each college society provides you with a real life experience. Fest of our college is ‘Nexus’, which is one of the biggest and most famous fests of University of Delhi.

    Sri Venkateswara College is popularly known as Venky and South Campus's SRCC when it comes to Commerce and Economics. Sri Venkateswara College can be called as the number one co-ed college in South Campus of Delhi University.     Sri Venkateswara College is a well reputed college of Delhi University. Being a 1st year student, my experience till now has been great in most of the aspects such as academics, extracurricular activities, sports, etc. Having regular seminars makes it even more exciting.
