SVC New Delhi: Views of Sophomore

Overall Rating
It's have been a year now and honestly I like the campus of Sri Venkateswara College, New Delhi. Although the campus is not that big as North campus Colleges but being here is worth it. The greenery and huge crowd and the canteen food always set the mood. Talking about the societies, well there are a lot more you can learn and the seniors are super sweet. People here are so friendly and the overall environment makes you to go to the College every day.
 

Academics Rating
I am enrolled in B.Com (Hons.) and it is one of the most popular courses in DU. Well you need to score at least 700+ if you are from general category and other categories can expect 650+ in CUET. There is huge demand for this course hence the crowd is pretty much high here. There are 2 sections of 100+ students in each. There are a lot more opportunities for commerce students like societies, internships, research etc. But if you're pursuing any professional course sometimes it can get pretty hectic as you have to maintain 66.6% attendance requirement.
The fee is pretty affordable compared to the private Universities. For my course, it is around Rs. 23,000/- per year and Rs. 1000/- exam fees for each semester. But if are from low middle class family, you can get scholarship (the student need to submit the required documents). The fee structure also depends on the category of the student. You can get the scholarship here easily under NSP (National Scholarship Portal) up to Rs. 12,000/-.
 

Faculty Rating
The teachers are highly qualified and very good in teaching. Some of the teachers are very sweet, they support a lot if students ask for help for any research work or academics. They use PPTs and give projects and assignments to help us with our studies.
 

Placement Rating
We have Placement Cell in our College, which is very popular for its internships and placements opportunities. They post about internships and placement opportunities on their official social media accounts. The companies that have visited our college are Accenture, KPMG, Deloitte and many more. The highest package till now is 22 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
Sri Venkateswara College has separate hostel for girls and boys. Hostel has capacity of 300 for boys and girls (each). The rooms fully furnished with washing machines. Mess food is also the best in the whole South Campus. The fee structure is Rs. 49,000/- for a quarter for both boys and girls. The hostel is in the campus only so students had library facility as well.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our College has 2 buildings. One is the old building, and another is the new building. New building’s furniture is better as compared to the old one. Each classroom has 6 fans and with ACs in some classrooms. There are 3 blocks for each department, Arts block, Science block & Commerce block. My favorite thing about the infrastructure is the new building. I love the infrastructure of the new building because it has a big classrooms compared to the old building.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is very good at our Institution. The college hosts events and fests regularly, this helps us to meet new people from the different backgrounds. The people here are very friendly. They will try their best to motivate you. Our annual fest 'NEXUS' is the most famous fest of DU. Students can also join various clubs and societies to engage with more people.

    My experience at SVC New Delhi is very good. I made many friends, learned a lot of new things, met diverse people and enjoyed a lot.     The overall experience of Sri Venkateswara College New Delhi is overwhelming positive as it is welcoming, inclusive, and supportive. All the students feel valued and respected.     Intelligent and knowledgeable teachers who also help you in your personal issues as a mentor. The college has good management and senior-junior relationships are also good in here.     Sri Venkateswara College is popularly known as Venky and South Campus's SRCC when it comes to Commerce and Economics. Sri Venkateswara College can be called as the number one co-ed college in South Campus of Delhi University.
