My Campus Life at VIT Vellore

Overall Rating
Overall the Institute has good ambience with a wide range of course options. I joined VIT Vellore back in 2022. I chose this Institute for many reasons one of which that it is safe for the girls. The parents also sleep peacefully knowing that their kids are safe. The students can choose their timetable according to their comfort level which is one of the reasons for choosing this Institute.
 

Academics Rating
I chose the course ECE with Biomedical Engineering. People think that this is a tough course which is true. The eligibility criteria to join any B.Tech course in VIT are through the VITEEE exam which is conducted every year. This year it was conducted in April. There are 3 exams conducted such as Continuous Assessment Test 1, 2, and Final Assessment Test. The 2nd continuous test is an open book exam. The Institute offers wide ranges of courses to the students.
The fee of VIT Vellore is divided into 2 categories. The fee ranges from Rs. 1,95,000/- to Rs. 5,00,000/- per year.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members here are supportive and friendly. They have good knowledge and experience in their respective field. The teachers have done Ph.d. The method of teaching includes PPTs, group discussion, etc. They give us assignments so that we gain knowledge and learn from it. The Ph.D also helps us in doing research work and clears our doubts as well.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, the Institute has placement cell which is very active. The cell provides adequate training to the students and make them job ready. It provides a special training in the end of the final year. Many renowned companies like Google, Apple, Infosys, and others visit our campus. The highest package can go up to 1 Crore per annum and average CTC for my branch is about 6 LPA which is pretty decent.
 

Hostel Rating
The Institute offers multiple hostels to the students on different occupancies. Some blocks have AC and some block doesn’t have AC. The hostel for the girls and boys are separate and it also provides safety to the students. The mess food is good and in time of the hostel is 8:30 PM for girls.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The campus is spread over 372 acres. There are many academic blocks for each department. The campus has library, labs, auditoriums, etc. Various other facilities are available in the campus such as hospital, gym, sports, etc. My favorite place is the library which has very environment to study and also has Wi-Fi facilities. The classrooms have adequate ventilation. Overall, the infrastructure is good for smooth learning.
 

Campus Rating
My campus life till now is good. The Institute gets so much crowded sometimes and the guards help us to maintain it. There are many clubs for the students. It organises 2 fest such as “Riviera” and cultural fest called “Gravitas”. The hackathons are conducted every year which helps students improve technical skills and time management.

    My overall experience was very interesting. The crowd is very diverse, and the experience is very eventful. Events are happening throughout the year in the Institute. You get to network with people from all around the world and the faculty is very learned and helpful. Vellore Institute of Technology is extremely reputed and has existed for over 35 years.     Overall VIT Vellore is a great choice, as it met my expectations with its cool infrastructure and better education facilities. There is great exposure of academics and nightlife here. You will be given FFCS (fully flexible credential system) where you can choose your timetable and select faculties.
