UMIT Mumbai: A Good Institution with Great Exposure

Overall Rating
This Institution provides us with great exposure to new skills and engaging activities. Starting from Drone Technology to Innovation and Entrepreneurship, it gives us a whole span of experience that helps us to explore and select our own niche. One of the main reasons to choose Usha Mittal Institute of Technology, Mumbai was the placement records, which were better than other Universities. The factor of NEP (National Education Policy) played an important role in choosing this Institute, since it exposes us to a range of knowledge.
 

Academics Rating
The Institute has a very well-curated syllabus for the students that prepare them for both technical and non-technical skills. Technical skills like C++, Java, and AI & other hardware knowledge, and practical like IOT, Drone Technology and Non-technical skills like Technical Communication, Human Values, and formal writing formats help us in evolving both sides of ourselves. This has greatly helped students to perform well in Internship and Placement interviews of our Institute. The seat intake of UMIT Mumbai B.Tech in Computer Engineering is Around 60 Students.
Fees for open category students is around Rs. 1,60,000/-. For other reserved castes, it’s lesser. Some scholarships are provided for the minorities as well.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculty at our Institute is very welcoming and knowledgeable; they guide us in every step of our life. The academics taught by them is resourceful and the notes are very well curated that could be used to study for semester exams, reducing the need to rely on multiple reference books that usually most students do. The faculty also provides us with insights regarding the Placement and Internship interviews which help us greatly.
 

Placement Rating
I don’t know much about the Placements, but the Institute helps the students during Placement and Internship interviews.
 

Hostel Rating
Usha Mittal Institute of Technology, Mumbai offers residential facilities to their students.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Our Institute is currently under renovation. The previous infrastructure lacked hygiene in the washrooms and had messy classroom walls. With the renovation, our Institute is aiming for new labs and classrooms along with well-built restrooms. The huge windows in the classrooms are refreshing and allow a good amount of sunlight and wind to enter in the classrooms which makes us refreshed throughout our time in the Institute. ACs in the labs are of proper moderate temperature.
 

Campus Rating
There is greenery everywhere in UMIT Mumbai, which is very refreshing, and the Institute’s crowd is very well-mannered and educated. The clubs and societies play a major role in keeping the competitive and creative spirit of students alive. Both Tech and Non-tech clubs exist that have events of their own. The club students are the ones who manage these events, and participants bring these events to life. The tech fest occurs around February, and the main flagship event occurs around March end. Both events bring out the best in the students.

    I chose Usha Mittal Institute of Technology, Mumbai after hearing so many positive feedbacks about the Institute and this was my best decision so far.     The experience throughout has been great, except for the sleepless nights before viva and exams, which is inevitable as an Engineer. One should definitely choose this Institute if you want to stay focused and away from any distractions because this it does offer that kind of environment for you to develop your skills and knowledge.
