UMIT Mumbai was started in 1997 as Private Institution

I chose Usha Mittal Institute of Technology, Mumbai after hearing so many positive feedbacks about the Institute and this was my best decision so far. The Institute was started in 1997 as a Private Institution. The admission process was so smooth. The Institute has so many student councils which makes the Institute life so interesting as they conduct various events throughout the year. The Institute is located just beside Juhu beach making it a premium location. Also the infrastructure of the Institute was recently renovated and it looks very beautiful now.

UMIT Mumbai has 6 courses including Computer Engineering, Computer Science Engineering, Information Technology, Electronics, Artificial Intelligence, and Data Science. I chose Computer Engineering because I was interested in both hardware and software aspects of Computer Technology. I must say that the syllabus is as per the latest job trends. Also they are following the National Education Policy hence, the curriculum includes diverse subjects for overall growth. We have subjects like Artificial Intelligence, Cyber Security, Data Structures, App development, and Web development which make us job-ready.

The fee structure is also good. They have financial aid programs and scholarship coming from reputed companies. Since it's a girls Institute, there are so many scholarship opportunities coming up throughout the year.

The faculty members at Usha Mittal Institute of Technology, Mumabi are well qualified and experts at their subjects. All faculty members are M.Tech or Ph.D. qualified. There are multiple teaching methods available like blackboard teaching, PPTs etc. Teachers are very friendly and approachable. They don't burden us with assignments and they believe in real learning and hence conduct activities like quizzes, debates, open classroom learning which inculcate interest in learning.

Many companies visit the Institute for Placement purposes.

The Institute does offer hostel facilities to the students but I don’t know much about it.

The infrastructure has been recently renovated. It has clean and hygienic washrooms. It has a library on the third floor which has a variety of books. It also has a big central library which UMIT Mumbai students can access at any time. The Institute has two auditoriums, one with seating capacity of 200 and the other with seating capacity of 100. Both auditoriums are used to conduct events by the student councils.

The campus of the Institute is amazing. There are so many councils like Google Developer Groups, CSI, IEEE, ACM, Writers club, Entrepreneurship Cell, GFG etc. which conduct so many fun events throughout the year. The main fest of the Institute is Arcade Illusions which is conducted in March every year. This fest has so many events like Traditional day, Western day, Bollywood Day etc. which makes it our most favourite time of the year. Also, the Institute conducts many workshops like Cyber Security workshop, AI workshop workshop throughout the year. Recently a Drone workshop was conducted where we learned how to build a drone from scratch and fly it.
