Usha Mittal Institute of Technology belongs to SNDT Women University. As it's a women college, girls get exposure in every aspect of the field. The admission process is the same as any other University. The perfect balance between academics and extracurricular activities help students to stand out.

I am from ENC branch. You can easily get admission if you have an average score in the entrance exam. Syllabus update's as per AICTE guidelines. The syllabus is best to get placed in Industries, as it is designed like that. There is less stress compared to Mumbai University.

Teaching is average. More than half teaching staffs are above 45y/o. The college needs to focus on "how to teach the student" so that they will not get bored. Some teachers are excellent, but not all are good. College also needs to hire new young staff. Not all teaching staff is friendly. Especially of EE and ENC branch. If you attend a regular class then no need for extra tuitions, as everything in the exam comes from what taught in the lecture, which doesn't happen in other colleges.

If you are in CS or IT then placement are awesome in UMIT. We (EE and ENC) student have to put extra efforts to place. The college takes an aptitude test to prepare students for placement. TPO works hard to get each student placed. The eligibility criteria differ as per the company. But you at least need 60% average to place. Placement starts from 7th semester itself and 70-75% of students get placed. Big companies like Barclays, Oracle, Deutsche Bank, Bank of America, Colgate, Tata Powers. And Mass Recruiter like Capgemini, Accenture visits our Campus Placement. Highest package is around Rs. 19 LPA offered by Deutsche Bank and the average package is decent.

There are many colleges inside the campus but only 1 hostel is there. Security is good. Getting hostel in SNDT University is difficult as there is a strict criterion. Food quality is average. Though students prefer to live in nearby PG's.

Infrastructure is not pleasant also it's very poor. The building is attractive from outside, but ugly form inside. The foyer is big and pretty amazing. The washrooms are in good condition which is must in a girls college. The classroom is spacious but not air-conditioned. There are big windows which provide enough ventilation.

There are two Libraries, one inside building and other is huge which is University library. I personally love the main library. The auditorium is nice and spacious. Laboratories are average, many types of equipment don't work. EE and ENC branch have to compromise with it. IT and CS branch labs are quite good. There is a volleyball playground on campus alongside a big playground. There is only one shop in the whole campus yet best and provide everything you need.

As we walk inside the gate the first building is of UMIT, so we do not need to hassle a lot. The campus is huge and soothing to find peace from a hectic schedule in a lush green environment. Awesome place for clicking pictures. There is Canara Bank situated on the campus with ATM so no need to search for one outside. There are various councils in college. Including IEEE council, CSI council, ECELL, ACM, NSS and Sports Council, help in the overall development of students. There are many fests going on. As every council has their own fest. Arcane Illusion is the main college fest but it's average. Sports fests are best as its fun to see teaching staffs playing matches.
