VISTAS Chennai: My Point of View

Overall Rating
Overall, VELS University, Chennai is one of the best Universities in Chennai which provide a number of facilities. It was was started under the aegis of Vaels Educational Trust and is a deemed to be University. As I'm from Pondicherry, I have gained more knowledge about Chennai. At the beginning, it was hard for me to get adapted but as days passed by it felt like home here. I would like to continue my Masters in the same University because I have an attachment to this place as it gave me so many memories.
 

Academics Rating
Universities are totally different from school, mostly it is self-learning for the students but in our University same techniques were followed as the school. The academic changes for about once in every 6 months which consist of model exam followed by semester exam. I have 2 semesters in 1 year of academic session. After the completion, next academic year will begin with a different syllabus.
Fees structure is quite expensive compared to the other Universities in Chennai. I'm an Arts student who pays Rs. 1,00,000/- per year.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties at VELS University, Chennai were good to accompany you in every decision, but sometimes it will be a clash in between the department. It is quite common in all the Universities. However, my mentor who is our class teacher helps me in every decision that I have made and supported me.
 

Placement Rating
I haven't experienced Placement till now but as I have heard that it is in average level.
 

Hostel Rating
I stayed one year in the hostel but it was not up to the mark. Moreover, the food quality should also be improved.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The infrastructure of VELS University, Chennai is quite complicated to roam because as a University it has a small campus with small ground compared to the others. It has several lab, and auditoriums but the size is small .They have greenery which gives a pleasant feeling. The stone benches are placed in the campus so the students can sit and relax but the bouncers mostly won't allow the students. The University has three canteens, among that only one area has sitting place.
 

Campus Rating
The entire campus life at VISTAS Chennai, gave me wonderful knowledge and information. My University has several clubs, even many cultural events are held such as, Pongal and Onam. The events are the best because our chairman is in the industry of film production and owns VELS group of film production. At the beginning, I was so afraid of going to the University because I didn’t know anyone or how to speak with them, but later when I joined and I enjoyed a lot.

    Hello, talking about my overall experience, this University is actually the best. The infrastructure is not same as I expected but the education system is literally awesome.
