I get into LJIET back in 2012 to pursue the Bachelor of Engineering in Civil Engineering. L.J. Institute of Engineering and Technology is AICTE approved college under the Gujarat Technological University. The Admission process is quite smooth for students who have enrolled in the admission process through the ACPC portal. To get admission in Management Quota or NRI quota – the college has developed a wonderful method of merit-based admissions among the application filed. This entire process is managed and handled by a few selected faculty personals who have the best knowledge regarding the admission. Every time the college management facilitates students and parents with counseling centers with branch specialized faculties. In defined hours parents and students can visit the institute and gain proper knowledge. A very generous and kind gesture.

Currently at L J Institute of engineering and technology students can opt for Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Auto-Mobiles Engineering, Electronics, and Communication Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Information & Technology Engineering. Note – LJIET has got approval to become a university. Any student who has taken admission in 2020 or earlier will be considered in GTU afterward from 2021 L J Institute of Engineering and Technology will come under L J K University. Kindly take a note of this.

If we talk about the aspect of Academics, this is the place where you need to be for your engineering career. I completed my B.E. in civil engineering in 2016 and I finished on a satisfactorily note. One of the reasons to join this course was to pursue good grades at Gujarat Technological University and to learn the various aspect of the industry with a professional touch. Both of them were fulfilled at the L.J Institute of Engineering and Technology. Apart from the college placements, students are allowed to have an internship at the various site for which the Head of Department provides a NOC letter.

To be particular for the civil engineering branch – LAB facilities are there with well-maintained equipment for the survey, concrete mixing, Universal Testing Machine, etc. The best thing about the L.J Institute of Engineering and Technology was the college timing. Easy and Convenient. With such timing, a student can enroll themselves into extra technical and non-technical activity. L J is recognized as one of the top-class colleges under the head of GTU and that creates a certain difference in job interviews. The syllabus of GTU is very well taught here with proper mid-semester examination process so as the student can perform much better in the University final exams.

If I review the faculty especially LJIET faculties – I would mark them 100/100. All the faculties are recruited from step by the step recruitment process. The faculties are subject experts for a particular branch. For example, if I talk about the civil branch – In semester number 4 – there is a subject called structure analysis which is taught by the faculty who has done specialization in the structural branch. Also, that faculty are not allotted another subject in that particular semester. That means in a single semester a faculty is allotted for a single subject, it may happen so that particular faculty may be allotted another subject in another semester parallel.

If you look at the average qualification of faculties, all the faculties have completed Masters in relevant fields. Subject teaching is perfectly done by the faculties and also they recommend books for the subject preparation. In a few of the subjects, Notes are also being provided by the faculties. The bond between faculty and the student is such created at LJ that students do not hesitate to ask queries and doubts. There were a total of 24 faculties in the civil engineering department at that time (2012-2016) & about 120+ of total faculties in the entire L.J Institute of engineering and Technology.

L J campus is situated at S.G Highway, Ahmedabad. In L J campus there are 8 buildings with a central canteen facility. Out of that 8 different buildings, engineering and Diploma courses has individual building. The classroom is well equipped with wooden made benches, Lighting, Fans and Doors and windows with good ventilation facilities. The engineering building has its library where you can take up any book against the use of your College ID and there is a facility to sit and read also.

There is a centralized sports ground at L J Institute of Engineering and technology where different tournaments take place. There is also a dedicated basketball ground. The Engineering section has its auditorium & open-air theater where many cultural fests take place. With a fast-growing infrastructure, L J Campus has now its OPD center on the campus which operates on particular days of the weeks. The campus has many places where trees, plants, grass are well maintained. The sweeper staff is allocated the duty every day which cleans the campus twice a day. The campus has 3 food facilities – A canteen surrounded by beautiful step sitting arrangements, A Chinese stall & Tea-Post café. Along with the canteen, there is an in-house stationery and Xerox center.

I had one of the finest bachelor’s life at L.J. There was an ample amount of learning, fun, sports, Technical and non-tech fest, exhibitions such as innovation village, and whatnot. One of the best institutes if you are planning to pursue your B.E degree from GTU.
