LJ Institute of Engineering and Technology B.Tech Review By Keval Patel

I joined this institute back in 2010, almost 10 years back. Amazing college and amazing time I had. A lot of memories with L.J. L.J Stands for Lok Jagruti and it is a trust. L.J has just gained the University approval in 2021 but before that it was affiliated with Gujarat Technological University and AICTE. The college management is well structured and transparent. From Faculties to Head of the department and even higher management as well. It’s a dream college then and still it is the dream college because of the infrastructure, reputation and above all exceptional teaching system. L.J. always ranks in top 5 colleges among the 100s of colleges affiliated with the Gujarat Technological University.

The admission process to get in to L.J. Institute of engineering and Technology is through ACPC. There is also a management quota and NRI seats available in institute. If you have decent score nearly above 70% to 75%+ in any board you can get into any course of the Engineering. When you select the L.J. in choice filling for the admission – you will see there are 2 shifts. You can select either of it – both are indicating same campus.

I joined the course of Bachelor’s of Engineering in Civil Engineering. Back in 2010 the branch of civil engineering was in demand and the merit was quite high to get into the L.J Engineering. The main aspect behind people selecting L.J is it is in the vicinity of the Ahmedabad. Situated particularly on the S.G Highway. The eligibility standards are being set and followed of AICTE which has some minimum aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry and Maths and along with that a certain percentage of GujCET or JEE is being considered.

The course curriculum was perfect for me and I really learned a lot out of the course. There were no corners left in terms of subject. From structures to transport and from quantity estimation to construction management. The course was good enough so that A student can stand and compete with other students and get a job in the market.

There is not a single negative point in the faculty review section. Specialized faculty for the particular sub branch or subject. For example, if there is a subject of Road and Transport then the faculty would have specialized and master’s degree in Transportation engineering only. The faculties really work hard behind every student – in class room teaching and personal doubt solving sessions or even on call or WhatsApp.

There are 20 faculties in entire civil engineering department. If we talk about the overall teaching staff in the college there would be 100+ teaching staff in the college. The teaching standard of professors is excellent. They're really helpful with the studies. They are both very professional and highly trained. They're getting the student industry primed. A few of the professors have already completed PhD. Most staff have quite clear understanding of their subject matter. All employees obey the laws of the institution. The head of the department still has a very helpful personality.

Campus life is peaceful and gender is the same. There are all sorts of laboratories available at this institution. Many forms of sporting events are available at this institution, and several tournaments are held at this campus. I have engaged happily in numerous activities in this college. I didn't choose the hostel. The college was having a hostel back then in the campus itself. Which was later closed and the hostel building was demolished due to expansion plan and another institution made over there. College has plans to develop the hostel again in near area but not in the campus.

The college has a bit of network crisis. Otherwise, the feeling at the campus is great. There is a wide space in the middle of the campus that boosts the charm of the campus. Sport, basketball, football and cricket facilities as well. All the services provided are fine, and they're worth every penny. There are several food options also in the campus. The Chinese stall, Basement canteen, Teapost and salim burger just outside the campus. So, if you are travelling from distance or commuting from Gandhinagar or away places – you can be assured about the food.

Life at L.J. is really amazing. The cultural fest “Lumina” is the highlight of the institution. The main thing about the L.J institute of engineering and technology is that they treat every student as same. There is no discrimination on the basis of cast, gender or race – that affects the psychological condition of the student. The college also organizes the site visits across the city such as building construction, water treatment plant, highway and dam construction. The institute also organizes the tech fest called “ L.J innovation village”. The timing of the college is really convenient – 8:30 am to 1:30 pm only – 4 or max 5 lectures a day. No burden.
