Who doesn’t want a healthy atmosphere in a place where one has to spend almost half the time of the day? The University is one of the best universities which offers different courses to the students as well as offers placements to the students which is the most important to the students pursuing graduation. The University is widely spread over a large area. The University has 5 campuses that offer different courses. The main campus is in Amritsar which is surrounded by the main market and has a large number of food stalls which is a very good option for the youngsters.

According to the Center for World University (CWUR), the Guru Nanak Dev University mark as 48 national ranks. It also allows international students to apply for admission. The admission process varies from course to course, such as some courses have merit-based criteria or an entrance examination. In which students need to appear for the examination and different rounds of counseling take place. The college management is very keen. They take care of every individual. The university has an administration block in which all the tasks related to fees, board migration all the activities take place.

From an academic point of view, the university marks a significant role. A large number of courses are available in the university which helps different students to fulfill their dreams by completing their education in the desired field. I joined the engineering course B.Tech (ECE) which is of 4 years duration and having 8 semesters. The student must complete 12th with non-medical and should appear in the All India entrance engineering examination (AIEEE). The selection is on a merit basis. I want to be an engineer and I have an interest in electronics, so thereby I joined this course and it has further scope in the future. Keeping the job point and other different options available after joining this course such as you can appear for gate examination, can give different government examinations.

The course has 8 semesters, 7 were theoretical as well as practical semesters whereas last semester that is 8 semesters in this student have to undergo internship in their interest. In this semester, I joined Godrej Agrovet as an intern and I worked on a project named (QR code for Crop Protection Business). And after the completion of 2 years, i.e. 4 semesters a student need to undergo 2 months training period in this I have joined the course. The course subjects are different for every semester so they are up to expectation as in every semester you will be able to learn new subjects. This course is helpful for me to get a job in a top MNC. As the university provides campus placement for this course, so the maximum number of people get the job.

The faculty at the university is very excellent. Professors have always been so cooperative. And, I have always felt that they not only guide us but are there as our friends to help us in every situation. They help the students in every possible way. For my course, there is a subject matter expert for every subject. Every department has one member referred to as (HOD). Different people are working in the office organizing all the formalities of the students such as providing DMC, roll number, and more to the students.

All the teachers are very experienced almost all of them are PhD holders. So the teachers are having a vast knowledge of their subjects as well as they are also aware of other subjects by which they can help the students. The teacher teaches the subject as well as also helps the students to perform the practical. The teachers help the student to perform practical and spread knowledge among the students. As practical knowledge is very much important for the students.

Every year, the placement percentile is above 90%. In my batch, all the students of CSE got placed and 90 % of ECE students got placed. The placement cell of the university is very good as they take care of every individual and provide placement training to the students. The placement cell also arranges the seminar and different training sessions for the students before the placement take place. They interact with the students to understand their needs and give a chance to students to tell whether they want any particular company to visit campus and if there is any such case; they try their best to arrange that company in the University for the Campus Placement.

Top companies visit every year for campus placement. Companies such as TCS, Capgemini, Infosys, Infogain, Amdocs, Nagarro, Amazon, Axis Bank, and many more. The companies provide different packages depending on the profile for example TCS hiring depends on 2 profile TCS ninja and TCS digital which have the different package for both the profile. The highest package provided by Nagarro of Rs. 12 lakh p/a. The average package received by my batch students is Rs. 3.5 lakh p/a. 90% of the students got placed in my batch and the remaining 10% lack eligibility criteria or don’t want to sit in campus placement.

The university offers the hostel facility for the students who want to avail the facility. The preference is given to the students who live far from the campus. The girl's and boys' hostels are separate ones. And the hostels are much secured. The timings for the girl's hostel are up to 10 pm and if anyone has an emergency that they are traveling late at night, so they can connect with the warden and can inform them.

The hostel fees are Rs. 25,000 per year. The rooms are very spacious and there is a facility of 2 sharing, 3 sharing, 4 sharing, and 5 sharing. Generally, first-year students got 4 or 5 sharing rooms. The food is provided in mess and there is fixed timings of food like in morning it is 7 to 9, in the afternoon it is 1 to 2 and in the night it is 8 to 9:30. The mess canteens are run on a contract basis. There are separate canteens in every block so it is easy for the students. The canteens are open from 8 am to 10 pm. There are a large variety of snacks served in canteens. Moreover, in the hostel, there is a facility of stationary, Photostat as well as basic needs. The students have the facility of internet through wi-fi in all the rooms. The hostel also has a reading room in which students can study. The hostel also has a guest room, a common room in which all the students get together and can enjoy the time.

The infrastructure of the university is great. The campus is widely spread over a large area. Every department has a building. The University library is referred to as Bhai Gurudas Library which is having a large space, separate reading room, separate magazine areas. A large number of books are available which students can issue for 30 days. The library is open for all of the year except for 2 national holidays i.e. 26th January and 15th August. It opens from 9 am to 9 pm on weekdays and 9 am to 5 pm on weekends and other holidays. The university has 3 auditoriums in which different fests are organized. Workshops and laboratories are designed according to the departments. Our Department has 4 laboratories and 3 workshops. All the equipment is present in laboratories and workshops.

The university has a cycling ground, football ground, basketball court, volleyball court, tennis court, cricket pitches, and various sports equipment are also there. Students can use the equipment and can play whatever sports they want. The university also has departmental stores inside the campus. There are about 9 to 10 cafeterias on the campus of the university which provides different varieties of foods. There is a large market in front of the main gate, which has all the stores which are very beneficial for the hostel students as well as day scholars. The university also provides a medical facility in case of any emergency. The first aids are arranged in every department which is helpful for the students.

The campus life of the university is very good. One can enjoy their college life up to the full extent. The campus consists of a lot of options. There are different clubs in the university which organized different competitions in which everyone can take part. These competitions build confidence among the individual.

The famous fest which is referred to as JASHN is organized every year and the events are arranged among all colleges level. So this fest is very energetic and continues for 3 days which is enjoyed by every individual. The DJ night is also organized in the university in which a celebrity comes and makes that day memorable. Moreover, every festival is celebrated with full enthusiasm and every individual take part in these. So come and join the mesmerizing atmosphere of the university.
