SGTB Khalsa College is NAAC grade A college affiliated to DU. Khalsa College admission algorithm differs according to the undergraduate and postgraduate courses. Students who pass out 12th can pursue to this college via Cut off list. If you are someone who is applying for postgraduate course, then you have to undergo an entrance test which will be conducted by National test agency. The list of the selected candidates will be announced by the university and accordingly the candidate will have to go to the allotted college to complete his or her admission process. Well, the management staff of Sri Guru Tegh Bahadur Khalsa college is very supportive and solves each and every query of students.

I joined the college for the course - B.Sc Life science. To be in this course you should have subjects- physics, chemistry and Biology in your 11th and 12th standard. The course subjects were as per my expectations but they don't ensure a job for me after my graduation. The only reason I joined this course is because it offers you variety of options to apply for your master's degree.

There were three departments that our course came under- Botany, Zoology and Chemistry. We had total 3 or 4 teachers for each subjects. They were our guide for theory classes and practical classes as well. Most of them were Associate professor and some of them were Assistant professors. Each one of them had a degree of PhD. Moreover, they were up to the mark in their teaching methods. Each of them had a teaching experience of more than five years.

Our college placement cell was known as Ignito. There were companies like Wipro, Dabur, Ranbaxy and many more which visited our college campus for placement of students. There was no placement for science stream students. But commerce and humanities students had opportunities to get placed. Highest package was known to Rs. 8 lakh per annum. Placement cell tells to place about 60 per cent students respectively.

Yes, there is a girls hostel in the college campus. The hostel facilities are not for boys. There are overall rooms of 150. Each room can accommodate 3 students each. The hostel fee is of Rs. 1 lakh per annum. The students say the food dishes are of variety and fresh and delicious as well. The college hostel has a warden who takes care of the students who resides students. Apart from the presence of security guards, the hostel has CCTV camera surveillance. They are strict timings to be in the hostel.

The college campus is big. There are numerous classrooms which are air conditioned and well furnished. The laboratories are also there which two in number for each department. The lab staff is cooperative and helpful. The labs are updated and equipped with equipments. The college campus has a very big playground. There are various games which can be conducted on that playground. There is a canteen which serves tasty food and apart from this, there is Cafe Coffee Day which serves sandwiches, coffee and much more. There is no medical unit where a student can go. But there is Patel chest near the college campus where students can take medical help. The college has a large auditorium which can accommodate numerous audience. Auditorium can hold workshops and award functions. The auditorium looks like a movie theater.

The campus life in the entire three years was amazing. There are different societies for dance, singing, theater, debate, photography and many more. They help nurture an individual mind and help them groom themselves. More or less, they encourage a student to be socially active and to actively participate in the competition and activities conducted by the college. Fest is called Laskkara which is a matter of 3 or 4 days event. This event conducts various activities for students to participate. In the last day of Lashkara, there is a star performer. It is an enjoyable experience.
