If one has to cement his/her placements, they have no choice but to study hard and be a part of all the initiative taken by the college to educate the students. At IMI Kolkata, one has to always push the guy who is ahead of them as coming top from bottom is never cool and this is what we were taught. So, the push-ups never ended as amid all the friendship that we had was secondary as at the front of our noses we knew that we have a competition standing in front of us. The reason why we were prepared to live such way because it is even harder to survive in corporate jobs but the practice for that started at IMI and that is why I or for that matter all the IMI students have been able to survive at the latter stage of their lives.

I enjoyed every bit of academics as I was totally in the moment as soon as I joined IMI Kolkata. I would like come to how the studies were done here. Classes long and sharp from morning till evening. From Monday to Friday and Saturday we used to have some or the other guest lectures, workshops or some revisions. So, Saturday was more of a relax day as mental fatigue has got the better of many is what we have witnessed over the years. At, IMI it one magnificent moment because academics were kept at the top and then every other thing revolves around it. So, academics were the sheet anchor because one can improvise with their projects and assignments but certainly not with the curriculum.

Education here starts from the number 140 because 100 percent was not enough to get through as to pass out from here one will have to give at least 140%. Students who gave 200% saw rewards coming their way in form of scholarships and placements. So overall if I look at the academic performance of the college, it was more than my imaginations as I was used to classes getting cancelled sitting at the serene lands of the campus during classes but at IMI it was not possible. Attendance is mandatory but it’s not that student can’t get away with lesser attendance bit not attending the classes was never a choice here.
