BIT Mesra B.Tech Fees Structure 2026 & Admission Process

The course I have chosen is Chemical Engineering because of the institute's legacy in the field of Engineering. Also, the highest placed student from the institute was from Chemical Engineering. I got this institute on the basis of my rank in JEE Main exam. There is a separate form for the home state OBC students. For category students here, there is relaxation with the rank for admission. Institute’s semester exams are held in the scheduled timings. I have never seen a delay in the exams.

The fee is pretty high as compared to other GFTIs. The fee exceeds Rs. 20,00,000 in four years of your Engineering. During the admissions the total fee including the admission and tuition fees of semester was nearly Rs. 2,00,000. A special discount is provided to the category students. I chose B.Tech (Chemical Engineering) in this institute. In boards, you need secure above 75%. In addition JEE Main percentile should be above 95% for General Category. Admission process is through JoSAA and SCAB counseling. So, in a semester two major exams are there i.e. mid sem and end sem. In between these two, there are many quizzes, which in total form our CGPA. As students in this collage have cleared one of the toughest exams, questions papers in these exams of the institute also try to maintain the same level. Overall, the academics are conceptual and help us to face real life challenges.

The yearly fee is Rs. 4,65,000. Per semester, tuition fee is Rs. 1,90,000, admission fee (one time) is Rs. 17,500, caution money submitted is Rs. 10,000 (which is refundable), hostel charges are around Rs. 20,000 and mess fee is Rs. 35,000 along with Rs. 5,000 as hostel caution money.Read Full Review

I am doing B.Tech in electronics and communication. I wanted to get CSE but my rank was 30k so I could only get CSE in IIITs and lower NITs in general category. I got admission here through csab counseling. Talking about the admission process, you have to secure a seat here in JOSAA or CSAB counseling. If you didn’t get any seat there, you can apply for special rounds on their official website. Then you have to show up for document verification which is a very long process here. Talking about the exams, there are mainly 4 exams in one semester. First you will have your first quiz in about a month after the semester starts and it will contain 10 marks. Then you’ll have the midsems which will be of 25 marks. Then you’ll have quiz 2 which will be of 10 marks. Finally you’ll have endsems exams which will be of 50 marks. In the first year all the students irrespective of their branch have to study the same subjects and thereafter they will study subjects related to their branch only.

The overall fees per year here is around Rs. 4 to 5 lakh. Tuition fees per semester are: Rs. 1,44,000. Hostel fees per semester are Rs. 20,000. Mess fees (estimated) is Rs. 55,000 in addition to these fees you have to pay its development fees at the time of admission which is about Rs. 60,000.
