NIT Durgapur Campus: Photos, Virtual Tour

NIT Durgapur has a campus size of 187 acres with well planned academic blocks, separate departmental buildings, hostels, faculty areas, playgrounds, temples, bank facilities, library and food centres. Classes are usually taken in Main Academic Building (MAB) and New Academic Building (NAB) and labs are held in the respective departments. Classrooms are spacious and well equipped with projectors, microphones, speakers. The library is open 24x7 during exams. Labs are well equipped with Wi-Fi facilities, in CSE department with high performance systems. The campus also has an Auditorium, seminar halls, canteens, Medical Center for strong security and transport facilities.

Campus life at this Institute is diverse and full of opportunities. The students are talented and they come from all over India creating a rich cultural mix. The Institute has a wide variety of clubs technical, cultural, literary, dance and music clubs. The technical clubs organize Technical Fest ‘AAROHAN’ and Cultural clubs organize ‘Recstacy’, cultural fest. Both the fests feature events, concerts and celebrity nights. The campus has its own temples so big pujas like Durga Puja and Shivratri are a major attraction here. Apart from that Holi is a big festival here. Saraswati Puja is organized in all hostels. The infrastructure is overall average. There are academic blocks dedicated to each department. The quality of academic blocks is good. All the lab facilities related to each department are there in their respective academic blocks. There is one large new auditorium where we have many different students’ related activities is done. Medical facility is also provided in case of emergency. Nescafe is the area, which I like the most. Classrooms are aided with technical equipment like projector and digital board.

Campus life in NIT Durgapur is average. There are around 5k students including from 1st year to 4th year. There are numerous clubs in our institute such as sports club, SAE India, EDC, CCA, and many more. I am in Civil society. There are many fests for tech and cultural. Institute also tries to celebrate the birth anniversary of great personalities who have had significant contribution in the development of our country.Read Full Review

Campus size is pretty good (187 acres) with almost all the basic things of daily use available in the campus. All the classrooms in the New academic buildings are air conditioned and have a seating capacity of about 250 students. There is central library in the campus itself which has a lot of books and study rooms for students. There are 2 sports field, 1 basketball court and 1 tennis court with many other sports equipment available. The medical unit in the campus is quite satisfactory and functional 24x7.

Overall campus life is good. There are many clubs that organize many events every year. These clubs take audition for selecting students. These auditions usually consist of 4-5 rounds (which may even change depending on the club which is taking audition). There are 2 annual fests which are organized every year. One is the technical fest, Aarohan and other is the cultural fest, Recstacy. Campus life is amazing as one gets to meet people from different parts of India and make friends who are always there to help you.Read Full Review
