NIT Durgapur Hostel Fees: Rooms, Food & Rules

This Institute offers hostel facilities for both boys and girls. The Institute has 11 boys’ hostels and 3 girls' hostels. All the hostels are located in the campus. Each hostel has well-furnished rooms with beds, lights, drinking water facilities, toilet facilities, common rooms, indoor spaces for games like Badminton, Volleyball and Wi-Fi facilities. There is Inter-Hall sports tournaments, Technical and Cultural Fests. Both Boys' and Girls' hostels are separate spaces with secure boundaries and supervision. The mess food is good and serves students three times daily 1) Breakfast 2) Lunch 3) Dinner. Both North-Indian and South-Indian dishes are made here. Hostel fees are around Rs. 18,000/- to Rs. 20,000/- per semester. There are Hostel Wardens, Caretakers, and Cleaners assigned to each hostel whose job is to maintain proper functioning, cleanliness of the hostels. The hostels are changed every year, In first year most of the students are assigned to Hall 11 (for boys) and Hall 10 (for girls). Yes, the Institute does offer residential facilities. There is a total of 14 hostels in this Institute. Girls and boys hostels are separate and no boys are allowed to enter the girl’s hostels. Mess food is sometimes average and sometimes not too good.Read Full Review
