The Budge Budge Institute of Technology (BBIT), Kolkata has state-of-the-art infrastructure with modern amenities to provide excellent academic experience to the students. Additionally, within the campus, adequate amenities are developed for specially abled students so that they can learn & grow in a hassle-free environment.
The Budge Budge Institute of Technology is built over 20 acres of land. Moreover, the ample infrastructural amenities available at the BBIT Kolkata campus include central library, auditorium, conference hall, seminar halls, laboratories, accommodations, bank, cafeteria, healthcare amenities, and the list goes on with many others.
The BBIT Kolkata campus has multiple amenities to fulfill the academic & non-academic needs of the students. There are approximately 59 ICT enabled classrooms in the campus. All the classrooms at the premises are equipped with high-tech amenities such as LCD projectors, AV aids, overhead projectors, speakers, and so on.
Inside the campus, there is an air-conditioned multipurpose auditorium that has seating capacity of around 650 students. Moreover, the campus has around 2 seminar halls which can accommodate around 250 students (each). All these facilities are used to host several curricular and co-curricular events & activities.

- Library: The central library is present at the Administrative block, covering an area of around 5000 square feet. There are around 40,660 books, about 3865 titles, reference books, and so on. Other amenities available within the library include a reading room with seating arrangement for approximately 180 students, reprographic facilities, book bank facilities, etc. Apart from this, the Institute has around 5 departmental libraries within the campus to cater the needs of students of varied courses.
The digital library services are also available where students can access a number of online learning resources like e-books, e-journals (National & International), AV lecturers from IITs, etc. Additionally, students are offered access to other books and reference material through the National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning (NPTEL).
- Laboratories: Inside the BBIT Kolkata campus, a ‘Central Computing Centre’ is developed on 5000 square feet of land and has adequate PCs connected to the internet. Moreover, approximately 918 computers are available at the campus for educational purposes.
In addition, fully equipped laboratories in several departments such as Information Technology, Mechanical Engineering, and others are available. Some of the labs are Language lab, Electronic Devices lab, Analog Communication lab, DBMS lab, Multimedia lab, and so on.
- Sports: In order to support physical development of the students, the Institute has fields where students can play games like Basketball, Cricket, Football, etc. Additionally, there is a dedicated space for indoor sports such as Chess, Carom, Badminton, Weight lifting, and so on.
Furthermore, a 200-meter athletic track is developed in the campus. The Institute also organises several sport tournaments, events, and activities at intra & inter levels.
- Hostel: Separate accommodations are offered to male and female students at the Institute’s on-campus hostels. The rooms at the hostels are fully-furnished and available in multiple occupancies.
At the Budge Budge Institute of Technology Hostels, students are offered vegetarian & non-vegetarian food. Moreover, several amenities are available at the hostel including 24/7 security, gym, housekeeping, etc.
- Cafeteria: Within the BBIT Kolkata campus, there is a central cafeteria which offers vegetarian and non-vegetarian meals to the students at minimal charges.
- Medical Facilities: There is a free clinic at the BBIT Kolkata to provide healthcare assistance to the students during working days. Here, all the requisite medical amenities & competent staff are available to ensure that students remain fit & healthy. The Institute also provides ambulance services to the students.
