To maintain the decorum and discipline at the BBIT Kolkata hostel, there are some rules & regulations that are to be followed by the inmates; the details of the same are as follows:

• Hostellers are strictly prohibited to consume / possess / distribute narcotic drugs, tobacco, alcohol, or any other intoxicating items. Strict actions by the Disciplinary Committee (DC) will be taken against those who are found guilty.
• The inmates are required to maintain the cleanliness of their accommodation while taking proper care of the fittings and the furniture provided. Failure to do so will require the students to pay for property damage.
• Severe punishments are given to students, indulging into acts of ragging.
• In case, the inmates need to go outside the hostel, they are required to seek prior permission from the hostel super / matron. Moreover, students need to make an entry in the register maintained at the hostel gate.
• Residents are not allowed to keep or use electric heaters, V.C.P., V.C.R. microphone, or speakers inside the hostel premises.
• Students are required to be back at their allotted accommodations by 8 PM in summer and 7 PM in winters. However, in case of emergencies, students can stay outside till 10 PM after obtaining a permission from the designated authority.
• Hostellers are not allowed to bring any outsider in the hostel premises without the permission of competent authority.
