IIT VARANASI surely holds upper hand, would it be placement or research facilities or hostel and mess. Highest package was about 1.2 crore this year and 4 students grabbed 1 crore+ domestic packages which makes it more valuable than any other international package. Talking about hostels we already have 2 newly built hostel rather than old hostels and 2 new are again to be built magnificent hostels are to be built providing one of the best accommodation in IITs. Not to mention that mess in IIT VARANASI is considered the best among all IITs. And also not to forget it has higher average package than even IIT Bombay.

I am from Mathematics and computing course. Most of the subjects are common to CSE branch. Also the academics are bit chill compare to other IIT and branch change becomes easy. So if you want to advance branch then this is the college you must take. professors are helpful in academics and especially they favour you a lot in 1st year.

Faculty here is very helpful even they are really professors who have done ground-breaking works in India and for world. Overall Chnadrayan 3 credit by ISRO as well DRDO have been helped by these great professors who are really amazing when you sit and talk with them and personally most of them would talk with you happily.

Placement cell is really very good at their work. Highest package was about 1.2 crore this year and 4 students grabbed 1 crore+ domestic packages which makes it more valuable than any other international package. In my branch the highest package was the highest package of college whereas the average of batch was 38.2 L.

Talking about hostels we already have 2 newly built hostel rather than old hostels and 2 new are again to be built magnificent hostels are to be built providing one of the best accommodation in IITs.

It seems to be a historical place and obviously the surrounding is very religious. But to be sure the infrastructure isn't very well developed as its very old IIT. The only thing you would find developed would be few hostels as they are newly made. The campus is open so it coincides with BHU campus and infrastructure is same as that of BHU.

Campus life is pleasant except the fact about security concerns and also taking in account the recent events that has happened in campus. Still the security is not up to marks. To be exact an unknown person may carry any gun inside campus to any hostel and security won't be even able to find out. Leaving these threats the campus life is worth it.
