NIT Agartala is just like any other NITs that are selected via the Entrance Exam called JEE Mains. It is considered an institute of national importance. I haven't checked the latest rankings but it was ranked 7th among all other NITs. I got advantage to get into NIT Agartala through Home State Quota. But there were many students from all other parts of India who were so talented in studies and other activities. The admission process is very smooth in NIT Agartala. You get every direction that is required when you are going there for getting admission. NIT Agartala has been maintained so well. Once, the servers got burned due to overheating but the officials made sure everything is backed up.

I have taken B.Tech in Civil Engineering. As I said I got admission via Home Quota my rank was very low but I got lucky. But the other state students had to get much higher rank to get into NIT Agartala. To get into NIT Agartala, you need to appear for JEE Mains. You don't need JEE Advanced. I joined because my father told me Civil Engineering is better (truth). I didn't know about what engineering life would be before. What I can say is Engineering surprised me a lot.

I have never really counted teachers. But all I can say is Civil Engineering department's teachers were great. They use to teach taking real life examples. So it was pretty easy to get along with my course. Most of the faculties are doing PhD. There are fewer numbers of faculty who had completed PhD at our time.

NIT Agartala is in a small state called Tripura. Considering this, I have many friends who got placed. There are no placements options if you don't know coding. That is why my friends from CSE and ECE have cracked Placements. Average package in our batch would be around Rs. 3-4 lacs. Although there were very good companies.

In second year I got a room in 'Saima Society' (My hostel's name). Second year was the year that I had fun the most. Boys and girls hostels are separate. Along with mess fees the total fees of hostel per semester is around Rs. 18000. The food in the mess is amazing. I weigh 90kg now because of the mess only. Every hostel has its own security guard.

The total area of the campus is around 395 Acres. There is uncountable number of buildings inside the campus. There is a Sports Complex which has a cricket stadium and a football stadium. It has a big library. Every department has their own building. NIT Agartala also has a hospital inside the campus.

When I use to study in school, I had gone to my school passing nearby NIT Agartala. I had always fantasized studying there. When I actually got selected in NIT Agartala through JEE Mains, I couldn't believe myself. I still remember my first day in college. It was summer and everyone looked like real engineers. My first class was of the subject Engineering Mathematics. It completely got over my head. I was day scholar in first year. I made some friends during my first year. On our first day of college we were asked by faculties to join any club. There were many clubs to choose from. I chose Writing Club. There were many students along with me who wanted to become writers. I had a great time in the club. Every year in February, our college organizes the annual fest called 'Advaitam'. The fest got cancelled when I was in 2nd year because of some problems and again it got cancelled when I was in final year due to Covid 19. The first year's Advaitam was the best. I got to see Jubin Nautiyal performance live. Along with this kind of events, there are also tech fest that goes on.
