A Review on IIIT, Sonipat

Overall Rating
My overall experience at the institute is above average. The college has a great coding culture. It regularly conducts coding contests known as Algozenith. The seniors are very supportive, and the faculties are also great. The only negative aspect of this college is that it does not have its own campus. Classes are held in the building of SBIT college. IIIT Sonipat is a good choice because of its proximity to Gurgaon and NCR.
 

Academics Rating
The college provides B.Tech in two courses, Information Technology and Computer Science. There is no big difference between the two, as most of the subjects are the same in both. The curriculum of the courses is very good. There is no subject that will not help you in the future. To get into IIIT Sonipat, one must clear the JEE Mains examination and should have a general rank less than 30k.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculties are amazing and very supportive. There are many faculty members who provide career advice too. All the faculty members have Ph.D in their respective fields and they come from prestigious backgrounds such as IIT Delhi, MNIT Jaipur, etc. Their teaching style is good and they provide notes that are highly beneficial for exam preparation.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, there is a T&P (Technical and Placement Cell) which really helps in securing jobs in the industry.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The college does not have its own campus at this time as it is under construction. Currently, the classes are held in the SBIT college building for all four-year students. The college is set to have its own campus by 2025 in Sonipat. There is one canteen, one football ground, and volleyball and basketball ground in the SBIT-owned campus.
 

Campus Rating
The campus life is average. First and second-year students stay in the SBIT hostel, while third-year students reside in Stanford Hostel, which is 1 km away from the campus. Fourth-year students and girls stay in the IIT Delhi Technopark campus. The college hosts two main fests, a technical fest, and a sports fest, in the month of March every year. Additionally, there are many clubs such as the coding club, and photography club in the college.

    I am currently in my first year in this college, and overall crowd and environment is pretty good. There is greenery everywhere. Teachers are helpful and seniors are helpful too. Placement opportunities are provided on campus. Although many fests are not organized which is the case in almost every IIIT other than that, there is a sports fest that is organised every year....   • An honest opinion about IIIT Sonipat

    I studied hard for JEE mains but unfortunately couldn't get enough rank to get in food IIT, NIT, IIIT as I wanted to study CS/IT only and getting it into these tier 1 college need rank below 20k. In 2019 there weren’t many reviews available, so I got trapped in IIIT Sonipat. Also, earlier this college was mentored nit Kurukshetra so classes of IIIT Sonipat were running in nit campus only but in 2019 we got separated and we were forced to stay in 5-star hotel type college.
