Securing My Future at IIIT Sonepat

Overall Rating
After completing 1 year in this Institute. I will write an honest review. As of now, the overall experience is average. I will give this Institute 3.9 rating out of 5 because there is no permanent campus yet. The faculty, infrastructure, and transit campus is good. The ragging is strictly prohibited in this Institute.
 

Academics Rating
I have enrolled in Engineering field. I chose this branch because I have interest in CSE. For the admission in IIIT Sonepat, you have to qualify JEE Mains and take part in JOSAA or CSAB counseling. In the each semester three exams are held such as semester 1, semester 2, and end semester exams. Overall, preparing for the exam is not that difficult. You just need to focus in the class to score good marks.
The fee of B.Tech is around Rs. 2,00,000/- per year. The tuition fee is Rs. 1,80,000/- per year and we have to pay the fee per semester. Many of the students get scholarship from the Central Government, State Government, and private scholarship. The financial aid is not provided by the Institute.
 

Faculty Rating
The faculty members of IIIT Sonepat are very helpful and provide proper guidance to the students. All the teachers have done Ph.D from IITs. The teaching method includes PPTs and whiteboards. The teachers also clear our doubts in academics, competitions, etc. Even before starting the class, they give short revision of the previous class. I have a great bond with the faculty members.
 

Placement Rating
We have a proper Training and Placement Cell for the placements. Many of my seniors got placed on campus and many got off campus placements. There are many seniors who have done internships in Amazon, Microsoft, etc. The highest package in 2024 was 40 LPA and the average package was 15.8 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
As we don't have permanent campus that's why all the hostel facilities are provided by other Institutions. Our Transit campus SBIT provides hostel facilities. The price of the room is Rs. 75,000/- per semester. Another hostel facility is provided by Stanford International School, they charge Rs. 72,000/- per semester. This is just 1 Km away and they also provide free of cost transport facilities to the students. The IIT Delhi Technopark also provides hostel facilities and they charge Rs. 7,500/- per month excluding the mess fee.
 

Infrastructure Rating
The Institute is located near Delhi, Noida, and Gurgaon. Our classes are running in SBIT. In the transit campus, all the classes have AC facilities and projectors. We have proper labs and Wi-Fi facilities. The Basketball court, Football ground, Volleyball court, and Badminton court are also available. The campus has a library, auditorium, and canteen. The indoor sports room is also there.
 

Campus Rating
Overall campus life is good. There are some clubs such as Impact club, Photography club, etc. I am also a member of Impact club. From my Institute many teams go for competitions in other Institutions. The Institute organise a sports fest called Agnito. Our seniors also conducts an inter hostel sports competition. In this fest the students living in SBIT hostel can participate. Some festivals are also organise in this Institute such as Janmashtami, etc.

  • The academics and overall environment of IIIT Sonipat is great

    I am currently in my first year in this college, and overall crowd and environment is pretty good. There is greenery everywhere. Teachers are helpful and seniors are helpful too. Placement opportunities are provided on campus. Although many fests are not organized which is the case in almost every IIIT other than that, there is a sports fest that is organised every year....     My overall experience at the institute is above average. The college has a great coding culture. It regularly conducts coding contests known as Algozenith. The seniors are very supportive, and the faculties are also great. The only negative aspect of this college is that it does not have its own campus. Classes are held in the building of SBIT college.     I studied hard for JEE mains but unfortunately couldn't get enough rank to get in food IIT, NIT, IIIT as I wanted to study CS/IT only and getting it into these tier 1 college need rank below 20k. In 2019 there weren’t many reviews available, so I got trapped in IIIT Sonipat. Also, earlier this college was mentored nit Kurukshetra so classes of IIIT Sonipat were running in nit campus only but in 2019 we got separated and we were forced to stay in 5-star hotel type college.
