The academics and overall environment of IIIT Sonipat is great

Overall Rating
I am currently in my first year in this college, and overall crowd and environment is pretty good. There is greenery everywhere. Teachers are helpful and seniors are helpful too. Placement opportunities are provided on campus. Although many fests are not organized which is the case in almost every IIIT other than that, there is a sports fest that is organised every year.
 

Academics Rating
I am pursuing CSE (Data Science and Analytics). I chose this course because, when I researched about Data Science during by JEE prep, it seemed pretty interesting. Data Science involves extracting insights from structured and unstructured data using techniques like statistical analysis, machine learning and data mining. Analytics is the process of examining data to draw actionable conclusions.
 

Faculty Rating
Faculties are great here, they are knowledgeable and helpful. There are no such strictness regarding marks here, maintaining CGPA is doable. If you are willing to do extracurricular or just polish your skills, then you will get sufficient time here. Although overall learning experience with amazing colleagues and professors is pretty awesome.
 

Placement Rating
Yes, IIIT Sonipat has its own placement cell, which helps the students in internships and other placement opportunities.
 

Hostel Rating
Basically there are three kinds of hostels, one is inside the campus, second is 700m away and third is only for 4th year students and all girls (which is in IIT Delhi Technopark). First hostel is pretty basic and below average and second hostel is pretty good, it has triple sharing spacious, AC and fully furnished rooms. Mess food quality is above average and all other basic amenities are provided here.
 

Infrastructure Rating
Currently IIIT Sonepat is temporarily running inside a rented building block of SBIT, but its own campus is under construction and would definitely be completed in 2025. In the temporary campus, all the facilities are provided to the students, with well equipped labs, digital and AC classrooms, libraries, etc. Hostels are also provided inside the temporary campus, with playground, sports facilities, AC facilities and CCTV cameras.
 

Campus Rating
Campus life is not that flashy and attractive here, since it is an IIIT which focuses mainly on academics. But still there is "Agnito" which is a sports fest, besides that there are many events such as inter/intra hostel competitions, festival celebrations, and more. Hackathons and other coding events are also arranged by the college for the students, and clubs like 'Impact club' manages all the events/fests. Overall I would say, it’s not the best in this category but it is alright, since you won’t get any time for all this.

I will give this Institute 3.9 rating out of 5 because there is no permanent campus yet. The faculty, infrastructure, and transit campus is good.     My overall experience at the institute is above average. The college has a great coding culture. It regularly conducts coding contests known as Algozenith. The seniors are very supportive, and the faculties are also great. The only negative aspect of this college is that it does not have its own campus. Classes are held in the building of SBIT college.     I studied hard for JEE mains but unfortunately couldn't get enough rank to get in food IIT, NIT, IIIT as I wanted to study CS/IT only and getting it into these tier 1 college need rank below 20k. In 2019 there weren’t many reviews available, so I got trapped in IIIT Sonipat. Also, earlier this college was mentored nit Kurukshetra so classes of IIIT Sonipat were running in nit campus only but in 2019 we got separated and we were forced to stay in 5-star hotel type college.
