Overall Rating
Currently i am studying in Civil engineering at National Institute of technology. I have chosen this college because it is the best college for my rank in Joint Entrance Examination Mains. My experience in this college is very good because it is vast in size nearly 300 acres and the campus is filled with trees and the placements are also decent here.
 

Academics Rating
Its NIRF ranking is 31. It has got new academic building called as New academic complex due to the increase in the strength of NIT Calicut, now it is sufficient for all students and staff. The ratio of student and faculty is almost 21:1. They are 1000+ placements for second consecutive year in NIT Calicut. The Ph.D scholars help us in laboratory and workshops for gaining knowledge ion a better way.
 

Faculty Rating
In this college the companies like Google, Amazon, and Uber visits and offers 20+ lakh every year because of their teaching in coding. The student should also study on his own so, he can score a good CGPA and get better opportunities in jobs.
 

Placement Rating
The highest package in Civil Engineering is 11.4 LPA and the percentage of candidates placed in Civil Engineering is 87.76 percent. The average package in Civil Engineering is a decent 7.36 LPA .The percentage of candidates placed in overall under graduation are 95.45 percent. The highest package of candidates in overall under graduation is a decent 67 LPA.
 

Hostel Rating
The hostels of NIT Calicut are not too good because they are old. There will be two students per room and for each student they will provide a bed and a study table and a chair and a cupboard in which they can keep their personal belongings safely. But they will not provide mattress and there will twenty four hour water facilities and electricity facilities.
 

Infrastructure Rating
It was established in 1961 and converted into NIT in 2002 so, the hostels are old but manageable due to that the mess is also not so hygienic. The buildings which are built recently are very good. There are eleven hostels in which some of them are new and has good infrastructure but the old ones are not too good even though we can manage.
 

Campus Rating
There are nearly 1300 students per year including batch students. Extracurricular activities like sports, dance, drama, public speaking and many more are also organised in the college which are helpful for our personal development. There are annual festivals in NIT Calicut like Ragam which is cultural festival and Techno-management which is Technical festival in which students can show there technical skills.

    I recently completed my first year in NIT Calicut and I can say that my first year was perfect. You can get admission in NIT Calicut through JOSAA counselling if you have good rank in all India JEE examination. First year was full of enjoyment as academically there is not so much pressure.     I joined NIT Calicut after securing my admission through JOSAA after scoring good marks in examination. I chose this institute since it is near to my home. The campus is so beautiful and every now and then, there is a program in the institute, which I think, does not happen in most institutes.     I chose Electronic and Communication Engineering. I chose this branch as it is in 5th in rank among all the other NITs. The campus life in is so good. Even though we have so much work, life here is very good and calm. You will never regret choosing this one.
